Scott Montgomery Eliminated in 7th Place ($49,124)

Scott Montgomery - 7th place
Scott Montgomery - 7th place

The table's short stack Scott Montgomery came out firing in a recent hand by making it 180,000 preflop. Simon Charette flatted on the button and the rest of the table folded. A {A-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} flop was laid out, and Montgomery moved all in for his remaining 35,000. Charette made the call and cards were tabled.

Mongtomery: {8-Spades}{7-Spades}
Charette: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

Charette held top pair top kicker while Montgomery possessed a flush draw. The {7-Diamonds} on the turn gave Montgomery a few more outs, but a {10-Clubs} on the river sent him packing.

Blumenthal Doubles Through Metalidi

Eddie Blumenthal opened to 42,000 from under-the-gun and and was called by Artem Metalidi on the button. Luis Rodriguez Cruz also came along from the big blind.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Cruz checked to Blumenthal, who bet 81,000. Metalidi called and Cruz folded.

The turn brought a {3-Spades} and Blumenthal bet again - this time for 157,000. Metalidi again made the call.

A {3-Hearts} landed on the river and Blumenthal announced he was all in for his last 480,000. Metalidi asked for a count and announced, "Call." Blumenthal flipped over {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} for treys-full of aces and a disappointed Metalidi revealed {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for treys-full of kings.

Blumenthal scooped the massive pot and is now up to 1,400,000. Metalidi is down to 1,100,000.

Simon Says

Simon Charette opened a recent hand from late position and made it 45,000. Eddie Blumenthal on the button three-bet to 107,000. Charette made the call and was witness to a {3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop. It was here we saw Charette check-call a bet of 118,000 from Blumenthal.

A {7-Diamonds} on the turn allowed both players to knuckle the felt for checks. Finally the {3-Spades} on the river allowed for Charette to take control and bet out 240,000. Blumenthal folded and Charette took down the pot.

Andrew Lichtenberger Eliminated in 8th Place ($49,124)

Andrew Lichtenberger - 8th place
Andrew Lichtenberger - 8th place

Andrew Lichtenberger started the action out from the button by raising to 33,000. Simon Charette folded the small blind and Atem Metalidi three-bet to 105,000. Lichtenberger then took his time before throwing out a handful of green chips for a four-bet to 215,000. Atem Metalidi then took off his sunglasses and five-bet to 430,000. Lichtenberger's response was to move all in for about 700,000. Metalidi made the call and cards were tabled.

Lichtenberger: {K-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Metalidi: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

Lichtenberger was in great shape, and looked to double up and become one of the top remaining contenders. A {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{Q-Spades} flop was exposed and Metalidi hit the world. Running kings were the only thing that could save the down on his luck Lichtenberger. A {2-Clubs} on the turn and a {4-Hearts} on the river sent Lichtenberger on his way.
