Rockowitz from Odell Again

Jesse Rockowitz opened to 135,000 with the button and Kevin Odell defended his big blind.

Both players checked the {4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop, and the turn brought the {5-Hearts}. Odell checked to Rockowitz who bet 155,000. Odell called.

The river was another heart, the {k-Hearts}, and Odell again checked to Rockowitz. Rockowitz fired 250,000 and Odell quickly folded.

Sevens for Rockowitz

In a three-bet pot, Jesse Rockowtiz (button) and Kevin Odell (big blind) saw a {7-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Spades} flop where Odell fired a continuation bet of what looked like 300,000. Rockowitz made the call.

On the {8-Hearts} turn, Odell took another shot, this time to the tune of 600,000. Again, Rockowitz just flat called.

The river was the {2-Hearts}, and although both players were tempted by the bet, it went check, check, Rockowitz scooping the pot with {7-Spades}{6-Spades}.

Nishijima Doubles Through

Thiago Nishijima
Thiago Nishijima

Completely out of the blue, Thiago Nishijima moved all in from the small blind and Kevin O'Dell called quicker than a jet-propelled whippet. As the Brazilian dominated rail neared the table, the cards were placed on their backs, Nishijima in piping hot water with {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts} versus {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

I'm not sure if they were requesting a jack specifically, or just a red flop, but the Brazilian fans began chanting avidly in support of their man. Meanwhile, the dealer rolled out the flop: {6-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

The rail seemed pessimistic, but when the turn came the {4-Hearts} a few on them grew ants in their pants and began hopping around with excitement. Then, the river...

{J-Spades}

The room erupted like Mount Vesuvias as Nishijima fist-pumped the air with both hands whilst wearing a war face that would make the Terminator cry. His fans leapt from the rail and jumped on top of him as if he'd won the World Cup.

After the celebrations had died down, Odell began dipping into his stack and sliding the necessary chips over to his neighbor. The result: Odell down to 5,600,000, whilst Nishijima doubles to 1,700,000.

Shaun Malough Eliminated in 7th Place ($92,900)

Shaun Malough - 7th Place
Shaun Malough - 7th Place

Action folded to Shaun Malough who moved all in for 225,000 from the small blind. Raymond Coburn made the call from the big, and the hands were tabled:

Showdown
Malough: {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Coburn: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop was horrible for Malough, and after the {7-Spades} turned that was all she wrote. A meaningless {j-Clubs} rivered and Malough was off to the cage to collect $92,900 for his 7th place finish.

Coburn is now up to 2,050,000 chips.
