Bill Chen just strolled by the media table and said, to nobody in particular as far as we could tell, "All right... I'm out. I'm going to Tao later."
And with that, he walked out of the room.
We'll see you at the club, Bill.

There were three bets total in the pot when Shannon Shorr (late position), Dan Makowsky (small blind) and Tommy Vedes (big blind) saw a flop.
Makowsky checked, Vedes bet, Shorr raised, Makowsky folded and Vedes called prompting the dealer to peel off the on the turn. Things got crazy from here, and the players capped the betting, meaning there were five bets in from each player.
The river was the ; Vedes bet and Shorr made the call rolling over the , for trip nines. Vedes looked at his cards, flashed the and finally mucked in denial that his hand was no good.
Patty Gallagher raised from the button, and she was called only by the big blind, the two of them heading off to a board of . The big blind check-called bets on all three rounds, eventually showing down for ace high. He was not a believer, but Gallagher's was good enough to earn her the pot and a new chip stack of 29,000.

Chris Ferguson just ran his into an opponent's pocket jacks, and he was unable to improve. The gregarious Ferguson stopped and chatted with a few people on his way out the door, but the important part of that sentence is "out the door"; Ferguson's day is done.
After peaking at close to 20k after making quad jacks, Dwan has been on a continuous slide for the past few levels. We didn't catch the action, but Dwan was in for his tournament life with pocket sevens vs. the of his opponent. Dwan was unable to fade as his opponent hit a flush on the river sending Dwan to the rail.
There was just a bit of a disruption at Table 303 right near us, involving none other than Jean-Robert Bellande. We don't have all of the details, but it centered around an older gentleman who was either shooting an angle or was a bit late on noticing the blind increase. Something happened with his entry into the pot where he announced a reraise but didn't put enough chips out in front of him. Bellande went off.
"I see what you're doing. You're angling. You were going to raise, and then he raised under the gun and you tried to make it a call. Don't think you can fool me, I've seen your type before."
From the next seat over, Al Barbieri shot us a sideways glance and a smirking shrug. When Bellande's banter continued for another several minutes, Barbieri did the same move again, almost finding comic relief at Bellande's spectacle, but mostly just embarrassment.
Bellande continued to call the "angle shooter" a variety of names. "Get Russ Hamilton out here. Bring the whole family. You're shady. Everyone should know you're shady, I've seen your type before. Angle shooter. I know what you're doing." By now, Bellande was kneeling on his chair and leaning over the rail to get some leverage for his arguing posture.
It finally drew the attention of an adjacent table and another gentleman stood up to complain.
"Hey, get a floor over! He's making too much noise. I'm trying to fall asleep here."
A player in middle position raised to open the pot, and Patty Gallagher called in position to see a heads-up flop.
It came a very red and diamond-y , and Gallagher called a bet. The black on the turn drew a check from both players, and they checked again on the black river.
The middle-position player showed up , and his ace-high was good as the lady sent her hand into the muck.
She's down to a still-quite-healthy 30,400.
We'll have a new champion for this event this year; Brock Parker has just been eliminated.
We picked up the action just as the dealer was running out a board of . Gavin Smith was betting the whole way, and his lone opponent called him down on every street.
Gavin's hand revealed , and it was the winner. That pot pushes him back up over his starting stack to 9,500.
