The Denial Muck

There were three bets total in the pot when Shannon Shorr (late position), Dan Makowsky (small blind) and Tommy Vedes (big blind) saw a {7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop.

Makowsky checked, Vedes bet, Shorr raised, Makowsky folded and Vedes called prompting the dealer to peel off the {j-Hearts} on the turn. Things got crazy from here, and the players capped the betting, meaning there were five bets in from each player.

The river was the {k-Spades}; Vedes bet and Shorr made the call rolling over the {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, for trip nines. Vedes looked at his cards, flashed the {k-Diamonds} and finally mucked in denial that his hand was no good.
