Tiffany Michelle Doubles Again

With the board showing {6-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}, Tiffany Michelle moved her stack into the middle and was called by one opponent. Her opponent showed {A-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} for top pair with a flush draw, but Michelle was one better on both counts with {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} for top pair better kicker with a better flush draw. She avoided all of the cards she needed to when the river came {9-Spades}, and doubled up to 27,000.

Lennholm Takes a Hit

Henrik Lennholm raised to 2,500 from middle position, and the player on the button called. The flop came {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}. Lennholm bet 5,000, then his opponent pushed all in for 17,000. Lennholm called.

Lennholm showed {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} for the overpair, and his opponent {A-Spades}{J-Spades} for the flush draw. The {K-Spades} on the turn took the hand from Lennholm, and he was knocked back down to 24,300.

Twenty-Six Percent

The number of players remaining today, added to the 466 players left at the end of Day 2a play, leaves 1,780 players, which is almost exactly 26 percent of the starting field.

Chip Jett Wins With the Varkonyi

Chip Jett raised to 2,200, the cutoff called and the big blind called. The flop was {J-Spades} {10-Clubs} {7-Clubs}. The big blind checked, Jett bet 3,000, the cutoff called and the big blind called. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and the action was checked around. The river was the {Q-Hearts}. The big blind checked, Jett bet 4,000, the cutoff folded and the big blind called.

Jett showed {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} for two pair and the big blind mucked. Jett is now sitting on a 90,000 stack.

Binger, Banger, Busto

Binger Eliminated
Binger Eliminated
Preflop, Michael Binger raised to 2,500 and was called by Zachary Gregg and another player.

On a flop of {A-?} {Q-?} {6-?}, Binger bet out 6,000 and only Gregg called.

When the turn fell an {A-?}, Binger checked and then Gregg moved all in. Binger called and showed {A-?} {K-?} for a set of aces. Gregg showed {6-?} {6-?} for sixes full. The river fell a blank to both players and Binger was eliminated.

After the hand, Gregg moved up to 86,000 in chips.

Nicely Done

Before the flop, the player from the cutoff raised to 2,300 and Allen Cunningham reraised to 7,500 from the button. His opponent called and the flop came {8-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}; when the cutoff checked, Cunningham bet 8,000. The other player called, and when the {8-Spades} turned he checked again. This time Cunningham bet 9,000 and, this time, his opponent raised to 21,000. Cunningham thought it over a bit and then decided to move in for his last 27,100. It was only 6,100 for his opponent to call, but he said, "I can't beat anything. Good read," before mucking his cards. The crowd gathered along the rail applauded as Allen raked a pot that pushed his stack up to 82,000.

Everybody's Movin', Everybody's Groovin'

We started with 65 full tables over in the Brasilia Room. We're down to the last two, as tables have been breaking and moving over to the main Amazon room at a mighty fast clip.

When these last two get moved, all of the remaining Day 2b players will be playing in the Amazon. Though they're moving around in there, too, as players continue to bust out.

Brett Faustman Eliminated

It was your classic (yet never cliche) coin flip, with Faustman holding {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} to his opponent's {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}. The {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {6-Spades} {3-Spades} {9-Clubs} board didn't help Faustman's hand and his Main Event came to an end. "Nice playing with you, kid," Joe Hachem said as Brett got up from his seat.
