Travis Rice Eliminated

Travis Rice was eliminated after getting all his chips in the middle preflop with A-K against an opponent who held pocket jacks. The board ran {9-Spades} {5-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {2-Spades} and the jacks held up for his opponent, sending Rice to the rail.

Cantu Can Do

Brandon Cantu has been on quite a run since dinner break, eliminating two players in back-to-back hands.

The first hand Cantu held pocket aces against his opponent's K-J. The aces held up and Cantu eliminated his first victim.

Immediately after, Cantu held A-K against an opponent who was all in with A-J. Again the hand held up for Cantu and his opponent was eliminated.

In just the first 12 minutes since dinner break ended, Cantu has increased his chip stack to 150,000.

Size Matters

Two of our big stacks -- Steve Lade, who has about 380,000, and Peter Biebel, who has about 350,000 -- are currently seated next to one another at the same table. The poor player sitting to their immediate right (down to about 30,000), just made some change with Lade in order to be able to post the antes and blinds.

As they made their transaction, comments were made about the relative sizes of their stacks.

"Chip envy," quipped the dealer.

Incidentally, Scott Clements, who has about 60,000, sits to the two big stacks' immediate left.

Brutal Cooler Sends "The Matador" to the Rail

Carlos Mortensen - Eliminated
Carlos Mortensen - Eliminated
Carlos Mortensen just went broke when he pushed the last of his chips into the middle on a flop of {Q-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {2-Spades}. Mortensen, who was relatively deep stacked, looked to double up when he got a caller.

Unfortunately for "The Matador," his {2-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} was no good. His opponent, Grant Hillman, rolled over {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} for top set leaving Mortensen drawing to the case deuce or running hearts.

Neither came and Mortensen hit the rail.

Hellmuth Still Hungry for Chips

Phil Hellmuth dragged a nice pot to start play back from the dinner break. With the board showing {6-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {K-Spades}, Hellmuth bet 4,500 and was called by Matt Vengrin. The river brought the {9-Hearts} and an 8,000-chip bet from Hellmuth. Vengrin called again, and then mucked when Hellmuth showed him {K-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} for trip kings.

Hellmuth is now just shy of 200,000. Vengrin has slipped to 31,000.

Full House for House

Tony Dunst from day 1d
Tony Dunst from day 1d
Jason House raised to 3,000 from middle position and then Tony Dunst shoved all in for 104,000. It folded back to House and he made the call.

House has {4-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} and Dunst has {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds}. The board ran out {K-Spades} {8-Spades} {4-Spades}, giving House a set. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and then the river the {2-Spades}. It did give Dunst his flush, but House filled up to eliminate Dunst.

David Singer vs. Nicolas Levi

Just before the dinner break, on a flop of {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, David Singer checks in the small blind and Nicolas Levi bets 4,000 in the hijack. Singer check-raises to 12,000 and Levi calls.

The turn is {5-Hearts} and Singer bets 19,000. Levi calls.

The river is {A-Diamonds} and both check.

Singer shows {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Levi mucks.

Levi is down to 124,000 and Singer is up to 166,000.
