Aliaksandr Dzianisau got into a pot with Jesus, and it cost him his tournament life. The two men got it all in on fifth street, with Dzianisau at risk of elimination. When all the cards were dealt, the hands looked like this:
Ferguson:
Dzianisau: (X)
With his pair of sevens and a seven-five low, Ferguson scoops up the pot and ends the hopes of Dzianisau. He will walk away with more than $12,000 for his two days' worth of work... not too shabby.
With the last elimination, we are down to our final 16 players, who have recombined into two tables. As far as we know, we are still playing down to eight tonight.
Robert Beveridge has just knocked out Jan Suchanek.
Beveridge: (X) (X) (X)
Suchanek: (X) (X) (X)
Beveridge completed the bring-in bet, and Suchanek raised. Suchanek kept the lead on fourth, fifth, and sixth streets, the last bet putting him all in. When the cards were turned over, the hands read like this:
Beveridge:
Suchanek:
Both players made full houses, but Beveridge's was better, queens full of fives. Suchanek's fours full of aces was no good, and he will head to the rail in 17th place, taking home $11,040.
Though the details of his final hand are unclear, Kirill Gerasimov has been knocked out in 18th place. He will pocket over $11,000 for his work over the past two days.
William Kohler got all in again. This time he would only have a chance for the low half of the pot with an eight-seven low. It wouldn't be his day when Bob Lauria made an eight-six low to cut him out of that half of the pot.
Marcel Luske won the high half and Kohler was our 19th-place finisher.
William Kohler just lost with a full house to Annie Duke's higher full house. Duke held aces full of tens and Kohler had fives full of fours. This hand crippled Kohler to 1,000 chips.
On the next hand, Kohler did manage to triple up when he put his last orange chip in the middle and won the high half of the pot to get back to 3,000.
Thang Duc Nguyen and Robert Beveridge were involved in a hand with Nguyen at risk. Beveridge was able to make aces up and a six-five low to scoop the pot and eliminate Nguyen from the event. He earned a little over $11,000 for his efforts.
Bob Feduniak got all his chips in on fourth street against Marcel Luske.
Feduniak:
Luske:
Feduniak made aces up, with aces and eights on his last card. Marcel pulled a nine on his last card to made a better two pair and eliminate Feduniak in 21st place.
We just overheard a conversation between the floor supervisor and Howard Lederer. They were discussing the late hour and the fact that we still have 21 players left.
It appears that the staff is going to hold a vote when we reach 16 players remaining. Majority rules, and if the players want to go home, we'll call it a night. If not, we'll play on until the final eight are set, regardless of how long it takes.
