Gamble it Up

A restless Howard Lederer walked over to the adjacent table in between hands. He stopped near Marcel Luske and asked him, "Are you guys gambling?"

"Yes," Marcel nodded.

"Good," says Lederer. "We are too."

After being down to his last chip, Benyamine was all in with the posting of his ante. There were several players who joined the pot to gang up on him, and at the conclusion of it, he mucked his hand and headed off to find a comfortable bed.

For his efforts over the last two-plus days, he will pocket more than $30,000.

Chips Moving!

We just had some real action for the first time in more than a half hour. David Benyamine, Alesso Isaia, and Marcel Luske mixed it up in a three-way showdown.

Benyamine: (X) (X) {K-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {10-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} (X)
Isaia: (X) (X) {10-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} {J-Diamonds} (X)
Luske: (X) (X) {6-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {K-Hearts} (X)

Isaia completed the bring-in, Luske three-bet it, and Benyamine capped, with both players calling.

On fourth street, Benyamine bet, Isaia raised, Luske called, Benyamine re-popped it, and Isaia capped it. Eventually, Luske got all in, and Benyamine bet everything except his last chip. Action was checked down the rest of the way, and finally the hands were turned over.

Benyamine: ({A-?} {A-?}) {K-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {10-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} ({8-?})
Isaia: ({A-?} {A-?}) {10-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} {J-Diamonds} ({J-?})
Luske: ({K-?} {K-?}) {6-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {K-Hearts} ({J-?})

Marcel Luske takes the main pot with his come-from-behind set of kings. Isaia takes the side pot with aces up. Benyamine can't get a lock on a better high hand, and he is left with just a single chip.

Pace of Play

While the style of play has shut down some, the tables are short-handed, and those two factors combined have resulted in the noticeable increase in the speed of play. The hands are coming one after the other, at quite a rapid clip. A couple of the players have commented on the trend.

Bob Lauria: "If we keep playing this fast, I'll be anted out."

Marcel Luske: "If that's what it takes, that's what it takes."
