2008 World Series of Poker
Event 33 - $5,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low World Championship
Day: 2
Giang: (X) (X) (X)
Sung: (X) (X) (X)
Giang bet out on third, fourth, and fifth streets, getting called down by Sung at each step. On sixth, Giang led again, Sung raised, and Giang called all in.
Giang: ( ) ()
Sung: ( ) ()
Giang failed to make a low hand, and his pair of fives was bested by Sung's pair of sixes. Chau Giang is headed for the rail, taking home $24,534 for his work over the past two days.
Steve Sung: (X) (X) (X)
Farzad Rouhani: (X) (X) (X)
Rouhani found all of his chips in the middle by the end of the hand, as he only had about 30,000 left. Sung made two pair, nines and fives, to bust Rouhani from the tournament. Giang mucked on the end.
Beveridge: (X) (X) (X)
Cunningham: (X) (X) (X)
Beveridge led the betting on fourth street, and Cunningham called. On fifth, Cunningham bet, Beveridge raised, and Cunningham called all in. When all the cards were dealt, we saw the showdown:
Beveridge: ( ) ()
Cunningham: ( ) (X)
Allen Cunningham was ahead the whole way, but Beveridge's straight on the river was the winning ticket for him. He knocks out Cunningham in 13th place. Allen was one of the few left who voted to quit for the night when we voted before the break. Now, he can go home and get some sleep, knowing he has a little check waiting for him in the amount of $18,401.

A vote was taken at the start of the break, and the players almost-unanimously opted to play the game out until there are just eight left. One of the only holdouts was Allen Cunningham, who has spent several late nights here in the Brasilia Room over the past week.
The two players got into a heads-up pot, and somewhere along the way, all of Greenstein's chips got into the middle.
Sung: (X) (X) (X)
Greenstein: (X) (X) (X)
Sung completed the bring-in, and Greenstein raised the bet. When Sung called, Greenstein followed up with bets on fourth and fifth streets as well, the last one putting him all in. The cards were turned over when the cards were run out:

Steve Sung wins the whole pot with a straight to the eight, and an eight-seven low. Barry cordially signed a copy of his book, handed it over, and headed out for the night.
Matt Grapenthien was our chip leader at the conclusion of Day 1, and his hard play earned him a spot here deep in Day 2. For his work, he will pocket more than $12,000.
