Cris Bubbles the High Roller

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Cris
Cris

Mathieu Papineau opened to 20,000 from under the gun and Cris called from one seat over. The flop fell {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Papineau continued for 28,000 before calling the shove of the Spaniard for 100,000.

Cris: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Mathieu Papineau: {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

The {J-Hearts} turn locked up the hand for Papineau and the {K-Diamonds} on the river was too little too late for Cris, who ended up as bubble boy of the High Roller.

"If He Shoves, I call"

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Anas Tadini defended his big blind against a raise by Rati Vale Il Dieko and check-called a continuation bet on the {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop. The {9-Clubs} turn and {J-Diamonds} river were checked through and Tadini showed {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}, to which the Spaniard mucked.

"I swear by my mother, if he shoves I call," Tadini said in French in the table chat. "I don't play for the min cash, I want a top prize," the Moroccan added soon after and remained calm. Not long ago that had been very different, as Tadini complained vividly about the Spanish players taking in their own language about hands.

Moryousef Doubles on the Bubble

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Ludovic Moryousef moved all in for just shy of six big blinds from the small blind and Rati Vale Il Dieko called in the big blind. While the other tables finished their hands without showdown, Moryousef was smiling while his pictures were taken before the following showdown took place.

Ludovic Moryousef: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Rati Vale Il Dieko: {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

"It is a flip," the Spaniard said but failed to get there on a board of {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}. There are still 18 players remaining, six on each of the last three tables, and the money bubble continues.

Baltazar Doubles; Guilbert Loses a Big One

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On the pure money bubble, Isabel Baltazar three-bet all in for 59,000 and Ahoor Parham as initial raiser called. They had to wait for another hand to finish, though, and it was Johan Guilbert who lost a bigger pot to Paul.

Guilbert limp-called a raise by the Spaniard and the duo checked the {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop. On the {K-Diamonds} turn, Guilbert bet and was called before the {4-Spades} appeared on the river. Guilbert check-raised from 27,000 to 132,000 and Paul called with {K-Spades}{4-Hearts} for two pair while Guilbert only had {K-}{2-}.

Now the time for the showdown had come for Baltazar and she was in prime position to score a double.

Isabel Baltazar: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}
Ahoor Parham: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

The board came {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Baltazar doubled.

Siddique Busts Before the Money

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Usman Siddique
Usman Siddique

Usman Siddique open-shoved for his last six big blinds from under the gun with {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Francois Pirault in the big blind had an easy call with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}.

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Siddique was left drawing dead on the turn. Right after, the dealers were instructed to finish the current hand before starting hand-for-hand on the money bubble.

The Action Slows Down

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

With the money bubble nearing, the action has slowed down considerably. In one of the few action hands, Aleksandras Voisnis bet the {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop for 52,000 and his sole remaining opponent Ahoor Parham moved all in for around 200,000.

Voisnis folded and then asked if his opponent had pocket jacks. "If you call, I show you," Parham replied and the Lithuanian added that he folded ace-queen.

Chemi Misses the Money

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Antonio Chemi
Antonio Chemi

There are just 19 players remaining and Antonio Chemi is not among them. The Italian was all in for just 51,000 with the {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Cruel took the flip with {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. While Chemi was ahead on the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop, that changed on the {J-Clubs} turn.

Only two sevens in the deck remained to save Chemi, yet the blank {5-Diamonds} river completed the board.

Il Dieko Prevails in Battle of Nicknames

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

In a battle of nicknames and Spaniards, JL ended up second best when his three-bet shove with {J-Clubs}{J-Spades} came at the wrong time. Initial raiser Rati Vale Il Dieko quickly called with the {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} and the board came {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and JL was eliminated not far away from the money.
