It's fair to say that the PokerStars UKIPT London has been a roaring success. Main Event numbers hit nearly double those of last year, with 725 entries packing out the Hippodrome Casino across four starting flights.
The field has now been reduced to just 13 hopefuls who are playing for the lion's share of the £696,000 prize pool. The next payout is worth £7,950 and the overall winner set to walk away with £127,600.
Gaspare Sposato of Italy finished Day 2 as the chip leader with 3,325,000. Sposato is a poker pro who plays online and has more recently been trying his hand on the live circuit. He's already had decent results and is now setup for his biggest recorded live cash of all time.
Close behind him in the chip counts is Alessandro Pichierri, also from Italy, himself no stranger to final tables with a touch over $1 million in live cashes on Hendon Mob.
In third place is Day 1b chip leader Saigokul Kannan, who has maintained his position near the top of the counts throughout the day and is on track to compete for the final table prizes.
After Barny Boatman busted in 21st place, Alex Romero is the last PokerStars ambassador standing and returns with 650,000.
