After Jeff Jansen raised to 450 from the hijack seat, Jason Somerville called from the button. Henry Vanderpol called out of the big blind, and the dealer spread the flop. Vanderpol and Jansen checked, then Somerville bet 1,025. Vanderpol called, and Jansen folded.
The turn was the , and both Vanderpol and Somerville checked to see the land on the river. Both checked again.
Somerville tabled the in an optimistic manner, but it was no good against the that Vanderpol held, and he won the pot. That moved Vanderpol to about 12,500 and knocked Somerville down to 14,300.
A couple of hands later, Vanderpol opened from middle position with a raise. After the player in the cutoff seat reraised to 900, play folded back to Vanderpol and he moved all in. His opponent quickly folded, and Vanderpol won the pot to chip up some more.

Jason Somerville, who jumped into the action after doing the announcements at the start, has gotten an amazing response from all the players who gathered here today, and he himself is stoked about the turnout of this event already.
"This is amazing, to get over 100 players for the opening event on a Tuesday afternoon," Somerville said, as he was the 103rd player to register.
We followed Somerville to his table, and it was clear that everyone was excited to get a chance to play against him.
"You're playing with us?" the lady at Table 24 said with a sigh of excitement and fear, as Jason Somerville took his seat in the opening event.
"Rigged!" one of the other players yelled.
"This is Merry Christmas for you guys," Somerville smiled, "Because I'm planning to re-enter at least six times."
"This is what I came here for, to get busted by Jason," Jeff Jansen said, sporting a Run it Up hoodie and a Green Bay Packers hat.
"I think I've got an advantage, because I know his tendencies from watching him play every day!" Jansen smiled.
"I've only started playing poker in January and watched Jason for part of every day when he was streaming," Jansen added.
"What's up everybody?" Jason Somerville yelled into the microphone right before the start of the first event.
The crowd, mostly dressed in Run it Up hoodies, t-shirts and hats, let out a huge round of applause for Somerville, who explained all the things in store for us this week.
Every trophy event this week will have a last-longer for people wearing Run it Up gear in every way possible, but 'registration' will close once we're in the money.
"So no grabbing a hat once you're down to the final four," Somerville joked, as the crowd burst out in laughter.
Somerville is putting the winner of every last longer into the $100,000 guaranteed Main Event worth $565, and that means there's a lot more at stake than just the trophy!
Last but not least Somerville has added $1,000 of his own money to the prize pool, and Peppermill Reno has matched that with another $1,000, to make sure
