Down to 53 Players

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The players are flying out and we're down to 53 players heading into the 11th level of play. The average stack is current 32,075 chips or 13 big blinds.

Big River for Harris

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

"Now I can play a little," Jordan Harris smiled after he just hit a huge river card to stay alive in this event. There's little room to manoeuvre for almost every though, as the blinds go up every 15 minutes.

Harris was all in for his tournament life worth 13,600, but he still had slightly more than the player on his left who was also all in with a third player covering both of them.

Harris: {K-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Short stack: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Big Stack: {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and Harris basically tripled up.

King Gets a Queen to Bust Harrington

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Brandon King

PokerNews blogger and poker enthusiast extraordinaire Brent Harrington arrived in Reno after driving down from Sacramento today, and he just got knocked out by Brandon King.

Harrington was down to just 4,800 when he moved all in under the gun with {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and he got called by King's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}.

The flop brought out {A-}{Q-}{6-}, giving King two pair, but the turn was the {K-} to fill up Harrington's straight.

On the river however, another queen hit and King filled up his full house to knock Harrington out.

Break

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The players are on their first break of the day. At the end of this break, the tournament will no longer be accepting entries or reentries into the field.

Ferocious Start for O'Brien

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Dan O'Brien entered the tournament very late, but he's already sitting on a ton of chips after getting very lucky on the last hand before the break.

After a raise to 2,500 and one player called after which a third player moved all in for less. O'Brien moved all in for 11,650 and the action folded to the initial caller who moved all in as well.

"Oh no!" O'Brien laughed, as the cards were turned face up.

O'Brien: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Short stack: {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Opponent: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

"You got one of my cards!" O'Brien yelled, but the flop brought out {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} anyway.

On the turn the {J-Hearts} hit and the river completed the board with the {8-Hearts}. O'Brien more than doubled up and he's heading into the freeze-out stage of this event with a ton of chips.
