Kiselev Busts Katchalov

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Eugene Katchalov
Eugene Katchalov

Eugene Katchalov open-shoved for his last 64,000 and the action folded to Daniil Kiselev in the big blind. He peeked at his cards and then quickly called to put Katchalov at risk.

Eugene Katchalov: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Daniil Kiselev: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

After the flop of {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}, Katchalov was about to stand up, but stopped with his motion on the {6-Diamonds} turn. A blank {4-Hearts} river failed to improve the €5,300 King's High Roller runner up, and Katchalov was eliminated.

Down to 25 Players

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The cards were all but rushed away, and [Removed:170] was spotted leaving the tournament area. The Lithuanian, who had doubled up early on by eliminating his countryman Gediminas Januskevicius, was involved in a four-bet pot with Anestis Anagnostidis and the latter shoved an ace-high flop with two spades.

Laurinaitis called with pocket kings, only to see Anagnostidis turn over ace-queen for top pair.

That reduced the field to the last 25 hopefuls, and they will be balanced to three tables when the next player joins the rail.

Malec Takes from Mor; Parrino Busts Lukac

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

On the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} turn, Eric Mor checked from under the gun and table big stack Sebastian Malec put him to the test, sliding forward an entire stack of T-5,000 chips. That was enough to cover the remaining stack of Mor, and he folded the {A-Spades}.

Over on table 83, Pietro Errante Parrino opened to 8,000 from the button and short stack Emil Lukac moved all in out of the big blind. Errante Parrino asked for the amount, and once it was determined to be for 58,000 in total, the Italian called after another half a minute of consideration.

Emil Lukac: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Pietro Errante Parrino: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

The board of {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} failed to improve Lukac and he has been eliminated.

[Removed:197] Eliminated

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Short stack [Removed:197] open-shoved out of the small blind when it was checked to him and Aviv Meiri looked him up with the {K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. [Removed:198] had pocket queens, but saw the board run out {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{A-Clubs}. The field has been reduced to the last 27 hopefuls, with 20 making the money.

Uguccioni Doubles After Almost Mucking Winning Hand

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The action started with a raise to 10,000 by Daniil Kiselev from under the gun and Michael Uguccioni called in the cutoff, as did Oren Rosen in the big blind. On the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop, the action checked to Kiselev and he continued for 14,500, only the Italian called.

Kiselev continued for another 45,000 on the {7-Spades} turn and Uguccioni called, leaving himself with just 6,000 behind. Kiselv's bet of 6,000 on the {J-Clubs} river saw the Italian call all in and, upon spotting the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} of Kiselev, he wanted to muck his cards. It was explained to Uguccioni that he had to show as part of an all in showdown, and the Italian reluctantly turned over his {K-Spades}{J-Spades}, with the words "but he has the best hand."

There were gasps as the table, and Aviv Meiri told him that good news, only then Uguccioni glanced over at the other side of the table. "What do you have? Ace jack? I thought you have the better two pair," Uguccioni added. He was then shipped the pot for the full double up and walked away from the table to take a break after this mishap.

Laurinaitis wins Clash of Lithuanians

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Gediminas Januskevicius shoved once to claim the blinds and antes before pushing again from under the gun. Fellow [Removed:170] also moved all in out of the big blind with a very similar stack and the cards were tabled.

Gediminas Januskevicius: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}
[Removed:170]: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Laurinaitis dodged the flush draw. Both stacks were counted and Januskevicius was covered by just 1,000 to join the rail.

In around 90 minutes from now at 2 p.m. local time, the 2017 PokerStars Festival Rozvadov will see 29 hopefuls return to the poker area of the King's Casino for Day 2 of the €2,200 High Roller. That's how many players bagged up chips last night after 14 levels of 40 minutes each, and only the top 20 spots of the 118-entry strong field will share a portion of the €228,920 prize pool.

Leading the field thus far is Russia's Daniil Kiselev with 286,000, followed by Anestis Anagnostidis (239,500) and Dorin Rauta (236,500). 2016 EPT Barcelona champion Sebastian Malec (223,000), PokerStars Team Online Pro Randy "nanonoko" Lew (186,500) and Antoine Vranken (147,000) also made it into the top 10 overnight, while €1,100 Main Event bubble boy Pietro Errante Parrino (136,000), €5,300 King's High Roller runner up Eugene Katchalov (72,500), Aviv Meiri (66,000) and [Removed:197] (42,000) are also still in contention.

The tournament is scheduled to play down to a winner, and with levels lasting 40 minutes each, this may only be done in the early morning hours. Action resumes in level 15 with blinds of 2,000 / 4,000 and a running ante of 500. A minimum cash is worth €3,437, while the victory comes with a payday of €47,929 and the elusive PokerStars Festival High Roller trophy.

The PokerNews live reporting team will provide all the action until the last river card is dealt, so make sure to tune back regularly. As of 12.30 p.m. local time, the final day of the €1,100 Main Event kicks off as well and you can follow the updates here.
