Pauls Gets Going

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Ulrich Pauls raised with {K-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Igor Rybak defended his big blind with {J-Spades}{10-Spades} before getting it in after a flop of {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. Rybak was in dire shape, but the {9-Spades} turn and {Q-Spades} river ensured a runner runner split pot.

Soon after, Daniel Stacey raised to 56,000 and Pauls defended the big blind. The start-of-the-day chip leader check-called a bet of 62,000 by Stacey on the {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop and checked through the {4-Spades} turn. Pauls bet the {10-Clubs} river for 160,000 and Stacey folded.

Lubas Takes from Sigel

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

A raise by Jan Sigel on the button was called by Michal Lubas in the big blind, who checked the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop. Sigel checked behind and Lubas checked the {A-Diamonds} turn before calling a delayed continuation bet worth 75,000 by Sigel. The {9-Diamonds} on the river went check, check, again and Lubas turned over {A-Hearts}{9-Spades} as winning hand while Sigel just shook his head,

Steinfeuer Takes the First One

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

[Removed:431] raised to 75,000 from the under-the-gun position and was called by Alaettin Keles, on the button, and Jan Sigel, in the big blind.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}, Sigel and Steinfeuer both checked. Keles bet 50,000, Sigel folded and Steinfeuer called.

The turn brought them the {6-Diamonds}, now Steinfeuer check-called the 100,000 bet of Keles.

The river completed the board with the {5-Hearts} on which they both checked. Steinfeuer showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for trip aces and the pot as Keles mucked his cards.

In a battle of the blinds, Daniel Stacey opened to 62,000 and Marcin Horecki called. The flop fell {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Stacey continued for 70,000, Horecki called. Both players checked the {6-Spades} on the turn and the {3-Hearts} river completed the board.

The Winner of the PokerStars Festival Hamburg Main Event Will be Determined Tonight

A winner will be crowned today as the final day of the PokerStars Festival Hamburg Main Event is commencing again at 1 p.m local time. The winner will take home the trophy but also very important, an amazing amount of €105,850. A pretty wonderful return for their €1,100 buy-in.

Ulrich Pauls will start the day with a convincing chip lead but nothing is said and done yet as there are 14 other players that have their eyes set on the tournament win. Pauls won his chips by eliminating quite a few players yesterday and bluffing his way through some big hands. Karolis Domarkas, the friendly Lithuanian, won’t be that nice to just let Pauls continue the run he had yesterday. Even though Domarkas starts at the other table, he will try his best to stop Pauls if they get to the same table.

PokerStars Team Pro Marcin Horecki will be looking to take this win for the PokerStars team. He had a wonderful day yesterday by going from 26,000 chips to finishing with 1,825,000 in his bag. Those are 76 big blinds, so he has enough room to play around with those. Igor Rybak on the other hand has some less space to make big moves as he took 7 big blinds with him from yesterday.

All in all, today will be an action filled day as they play down to a winner. The PokerNews live reporting will be here to bring you all the updates until a new PokerStars Festival Hamburg Main Event Champion has been determined.
