Big Bet Poker by Geisel

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Hand 1

Joseph Kushner raised from the cutoff to 15,000 and Sam Greenwood called in the big blind. On the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop both players checked and did so again for the {5-Hearts} turn. Greenwood then bet the {7-Diamonds} river for 25,000 and Kushner folded.

Hand 2

One hand later, Fabian Geisel opened the action with a raise to 15,000 and Ka Kwan Lau on the button as well as Greenwood in the small blind called. The flop of {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} was checked to Geisel and he continued for 30,000. Lau quickly folded, but Greenwood came along for the ride.

The {J-Spades} turn went check, check, before Greenwood also checked the {9-Hearts} river. Geisel bet 80,000 with 130,000 behind and Greenwood gave him a long staredown for more than two minutes before letting go.

Lee Takes from Greenwood

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Hok Lee scooped two minor pots without showdown, one preflop and the other on the flop, before then facing a raise to 10,000 by Sam Greenwood on the button. Lee called out of the big blind and checked the {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, Greenwood checked behind. The same action repeated on the {K-Hearts} turn before the {3-Hearts} fell on the river.

Lee bet 14,000 and Greenwood called, then mucked when he was shown {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for trips kings by Lee.

Lau and Geisel Chip Up

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Felipe Ramos raised to 9,000 and Ka Kwan Lau called before Sam Greenwood three-bet to 42,000. Ramos folded and Lau called after brief consideration. On the {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, Lau checked and Greenwood bet 20,000. Lau check-raised all in for 97,000 and that did the trick to force a fold.

Soon after, Fabian Geisel defended his big blind against a raise by Daniel Geeng. Geisel check-called a bet on the {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} turn before the {J-Hearts} river completed the board. The pot was 74,000 at that point and Geeng checked behind. Geisel flashed {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} for a flush and that won the pot.

Wang Busts to Greenwood

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Chun Yuan Wang
Chun Yuan Wang

Sam Greenwood raised to 10,000 on the button and Chun Yuan Wang three-bet to 39,000 from the small blind, which Greenwood called after brief consideration. On the flop of {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, Wang got his last 58,000 in and Greenwood called.

Chun Yuan Wang: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Sam Greenwood: {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Both players were on a diamond flush draw, but Greenwood had also paired the board with his ten. On the {10-Clubs} turn, some outs were gone for Wang as he now needed the diamond to improve, but a blank {6-Hearts} on the river saw his hopes vanish and the Chinese was eliminated in 9th place.

More for Kushner

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Fabian Geisel in early position, Joseph Kushner in the hijack and Sam Greenwood in the small blind created a pot of 80,000 to the {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop and checked through. There was no betting action on the {10-Spades} turn either and the {Q-Diamonds} river was checked to Kushner. He bet 37,000 and both opponents folded.

Kushner Doubles Through Lau

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

On the button, Joseph Kushner raised to 11,000 and Ka Kwan Lau raised the pot to 35,000 in the big blind. Kushner called and the flop came {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Lau double-checked his cards and the stack of his opponent, then bet the pot.

Kushner double-checked his cards for a second and quickly called all in.

Joseph Kushner: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Ka Kwan Lau: {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

"Save Joey," Daniel Geeng said and Lau smiled, then replied "ten for fun please." Just one wish was granted, and Kusher locked up the double on the {6-Spades} turn, making the {Q-Diamonds} river a formality. Kushner doubled for 54,500 and now holds more chips than Lau.

Wang Chips Up

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Without showdown, Chun Yuang Wang, who started the unofficial final table as short stack, chipped up. The latest hand saw him bet the {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{8-Spades} river into a pot of 20,000 and Felipe Ramos mucked his {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} face up.

The action has slowed down on the full ring table, and this will likely be the case until the money bubble has burst.
