Fabian Geisel Eliminated in 5th Place (HK$251,000)

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Fabian Geisel
Fabian Geisel

Fabian Geisel raised from the cutoff and Ka Kwan Lau defended the big blind to see a flop of {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. There were just 88,000 in the pot, but a raising war ended up with both players getting their stacks in and Geisel was the one at risk and showed the worse hand.

Fabian Geisel: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a set of sixes
Ka Kwan Lau: {Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades} for a set of eights

The {9-Diamonds} turn and {4-Clubs} river blanked and that sent Geisel to the rail in 5th place for HK$251,000 (~32,307).

Hok Lee Eliminated in 6th Place (HK$196,100)

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Hok Lee
Hok Lee

Out of the small blind, Hok Lee raised the pot and then called all in for what looked like 80,000 when Fabian Geisel reraised in the big blind.

Hok Lee: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Fabian Geisel: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

Geisel was marginally ahead preflop, and that lead improved on the {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop, as the German hit two pair. The {6-Spades} on the turn gave Lee some hope with the flush draw and gutshot, but the {Q-Clubs} river was a blank. Lee was eliminated in 6th place for HK$196,100 (~$25,240).

Geisel and Ramos Double Through Geeng

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Once in the money, the chips went flying and both Fabian Geisel and Felipe Ramos doubled through Daniel Geeng.

Fabian Geisel got his last 56,000 in post flop after pot-raised action preflop on a flop of {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, and Geeng looked him up.

Fabian Geisel: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{8-Spades}
Daniel Geeng: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{A-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The {K-Hearts} turn and {3-Clubs} river were blanks and Geisel doubled.

Hok Lee then prepared a reraise out of the big blind and joked "I try to scare them" by placing his chips near the line. It was Felipe Ramos who raised the pot and Geen reraised the pot out of the small blind, Lee folded. Ramos called all in for his last 123,000.

Felipe Ramos: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Daniel Geeng: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Hearts}

"Aces again, you gotta be kidding me," Geeng joked and laughed.

After a board of {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, nothing much changed and Ramos doubled as well.

Sam Greenwood Bubbles the Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

A day that started very well has come to a frustrating end for Sam Greenwood, as the chip leader when play resumed has just been eliminated on the money bubble. It took two hands though, as he first doubled up only to bow out the very next hand.

Hand 1

From under the gun, Sam Greenwood raised the pot and Ka Kwan Lau three-bet out of the big blind. Greenwood called all in for his last 64,000 and the cards were turned over.

Sam Greenwood: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Ka Kwan Lau: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The board came {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Greenwood rivered a straight to double.

Hand 2

A raising war with pot and repot ended with the shove of Lau from the small blind and the all in call from Greenwood in the big blind.

Sam Greenwood: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Ka Kwan Lau: {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

After a board of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Lau turned a straight and that let the incredibly long bubble play come to an end.

Greenwood Suddenly Shortest Stack

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

In the last hand of the previous level, Sam Greenwood raised to 30,000 from under the gun and Ka Kwan Lau called in the big blind. Lau check-called a bet worth 30,000 on the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop and then bet the {10-Spades} turn for 90,000. Greenwood reluctantly called for almost half of his stack and the {7-Hearts} fell on the river.

Lau and Greenwood both checked and the Spaniard rolled over {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a straight, Greenwood mucked.

The first hand of the new level saw Daniel Geeng limp in and Lau filled up from the small blind, Greenwood checked in the big blind. The flop came {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} and there was no betting action. Greenwood bet the Kc] turn for 16,000 and Geeng called, Lau moved out of the way.

After the {8-Clubs} river, Greenwood checked and Geeng bet 30,000. Greenwood, clearly frustrated, rolled his eyes and then stared over at his opponent, shaking his head several times. The Canadian ultimately folded and was suddenly the shortest stack.

Aces for Geeng

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Sam Greenwood min-raised to 24,000 from the button and Daniel Geeng called after glancing over at the stack of his opponent. On the {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, Geeng check-called a bet of 12,000 by Greenwood before doing so again for 24,000 on the {Q-Clubs} turn. The {3-Diamonds} river was checked and Geeng scooped the pot with {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

Then, Felipe Ramos limped in from the small blind and called a raise to 36,000 by Maksin Shuts. Ramos checked the {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, Shurs bet 40,000 and that shut down all further action.

Greenwood Doubles Geeng

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Sam Greenwood raised to 30,000 on the button and Daniel Geeng came along from the small blind. On the {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop, the stacks went in and it was no surprise to see Greenwood quickly put his opponent at risk.

Daniel Geeng: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Sam Greenwood: {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Geeng was marginally ahead but needed to fade a lot of outs. The {8-Spades} turn and the {2-Clubs} river did just that and the American doubled.

One hand later, Ka Kwan Lau raised to 30,000 and Greenwood reraised the pot to 92,000, which got through.

Short stack Hok Lee also raised the pot on the button soon after and showed kings after all opponents folded.

Last but not least, Geeng and Lee limped in and Lau as well as Greenwood in the blinds came along, then checked to the limpers on the {K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop. Geeng also checked, and Lee scooped the pot with a bet worth 42,000, flashing the {K-Diamonds} with the words "I had ace-king with a king-high flushdraw."

Lau Bests Greenwood

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Sam Greenwood raised to 30,000 from under the gun and Ka Kwan Lau raised the pot to claim the pot uncontested.

One hand later, Lau limped in from the small blind and Greenwood checked his option. Lau bet the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop for 12,000 and Greenwood called before the Spaniard slowed down on the {A-Diamonds} turn and checked. Greenwood made it 24,000 to go and Lau called before the {8-Hearts} river saw a check by Lau and a bet worth 96,000 by Greenwood.

Lau called and Greenwood showed {K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for the nut flush, which ended up second best as Lau held {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a full house.

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Daniel Geeng raised from the button and Hok Lee folded the small blind before short stack Fabian Geisel pushed out of the big blind for his last 75,000, which Geeng called.

Fabian Geisel: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Daniel Geeng: {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

The board ran out {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{K-Spades} and the German doubled up on the money bubble.
