We caught up to see Team PokerStars pro George Danzer all in and at risk before the flop holding . Unfortunately for Danzer, he was up against the of Mikal Blomlie.
The board fell and Danzer was sent home with a min-cash. Blomlie, however, is up to about 550,000.
Tim Reilly was all in and at risk against Henry Strasser, and as the table waited for confirmation to run the hand, Reilly said that he was feeling lucky.
The dealer was eventually told to proceed, and the players tabled their cards.
Reilly:
Strasser:
"It's OK," Reilly said smiling. "We're going to get there."
The flop gave Reilly four extra outs to make a straight, but the turn and river bricked , respectively. Reilly was eliminated, while Strasser is up to 85,000 chips.
On the third hand of hand-for-hand play, action folded to severe short stack Joao Santos in the cutoff seat. With just 11,500 in chips, he moved all in. Next to act was Robert Mizrachi, and he reraised to 25,000. Vegard Froshaug was in the small blind and began to tank. After a couple of minutes of thought, Froshaug announced that he was all in, a shove worth 71,000. Following a fold from the big blind, Mizrachi snapped it off.
The three players were instructed to keep their cards face down while all other tables completed action. There happened to be another all-in hand at a table on the other side of the tournament floor, but Ashley Cheung doubled up and stayed alive. After that hand wrapped up, it was time for this three-way all in to move forward.
Mizrachi quickly tabled the to have a stranglehold on the hand against Froshaug's and Santos' . Things would get interesting, though, as you will see.
The flop came down and Santos picked up a royal flush draw. The turn was black, but it was the and kept Mizrachi in front. Now with one more card to come, Mizrachi just needed to fade and he'd knock out two players to burst the bubble.
The river completed the board with the , and that made things official. Mizrachi won the pot and eliminated both of his opponents. With that, all remaining 144 players found themselves in the money and a round of applause was in order.
Now, let's watch the line at the payout desk grow.
Stefano Rossomando open-shipped all in for his last 27,000 from under the gun plus one. It folded around to Lisa Hamilton who called from the small blind. The hands were turned over to find the two racing:
Rossomando:
Hamilton:
Rossomando struck gold when he flopped a set on . The on fourth street ensured him a double up and the meaningless hit the river.
Anthony Borde opened for 8,000 from the cutoff and Govert Metaal defended from the big blind. The latter proceeded to check-call a bet of 9,000 on the , and then both players checked the turn. When the appeared on the river, Metaal seized the opportunity to bet 25,000, and that inspired a snap-fold from Borde.
Eddy Sabat opened to 8,000 under the gun and Grffin Benger called from the hijack.
The flop came down and Sabat check-called 11,000 from Benger to see the turn. Both checked through to the river where Sabat checked again. Benger bet 27,500 and after a few moments Sabat called.
Benger tabled for the nut straight to take down the pot.
