Who Will Win the 2020 King's Resort €2,500 PLO High Roller?

Poker Arena
Poker Arena

At 2 p.m. local time on Sunday June 21st, 2020, the cards will be back in the air in the vast poker arena of the King's Resort and Casino in Rozvadov when the Pot-Limit Omaha aficionados return to their seats for the second and final day of the 2020 King's Resort €2,500 PLO High Roller.

After six levels of 30 minutes each on a short Day 1, a field of 34 entries emerged and 19 players bagged up chips overnight. There is little doubt that the event won't surpass the €100,000 guarantee as another four levels of late registration and unlimited re-entries remain for players to join the action.

One of those expected to jump in is former football striker Sergej Barbarez, who skipped Day 1 as he was still deep in the last two tables of the VIP Invitational and checked out the action from time to time while on break. All those that enter in the first level of the day will commence with 50 big blinds as the action returns to blinds of 500-1,000.

Leading the field into the final day as the chip leader is former WSOP PLO bracelet winner Jan-Peter Jachtmann with a stack of 210,000, followed by Pedjman Hamie with 182,000 and Jonas Kronwitter with 165,800. Not far behind are Andre Ellbracht with 140,000 and Roger Hairabedian, who ended Day 1 with 136,600 in chips.

Furthermore among the returning contenders are Roman Cieslik (67,700), Han Kuo (58,800), Jules Ayoub (47,500), Eric Lescot (39,700), Christian Stratmeyer (32,500) and Janja Andelic (31,200) while King's regular "The Talk" will very likely re-enter after bowing out in the final level of the previous night.

Once the late registration closes after the first four 30-minute levels of the day, the King's Resort will also pick up the action in the early evening and stream the PLO action on their Twitch Channel until a champion has been crowned. Follow along right here on PokerNews from start-to-finish.

In virtually one of the first hands of the day, two late entries clashed as Matthias Kribben on the button and Sergej Barbarez were all in.

Sergej Barbarez: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Matthias Kribben: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

On a board of {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, Kribben turned trips jacks to felt Barbarez.

Ayoub Busts to Doblinger

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Jules Ayoub was all-in with the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} on the {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} turn and Franz Doblinger looked him up with the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. The {4-Spades} on the river was a blank and Ayoub was left with crumbs.

He then ended up all-in shortly after with the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Doblinger took his stance with the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. The {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts} board delivered a flush right away.

Doubles and Bustouts

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Uemit Guenduez sent Christian Stratmeyer to the rail who then re-entered and knocked our Yordanov Karagogov.

Stratmeyer with the {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Karagogov with {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} got their stacks in after the {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades} turn and the {5-Spades} river improved Stratmeyer to a flush.

Shortly after there was another all-in showdown when The Duc Ngo bet 15,000 on a three-way flop of {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Ossama Khamis jammed for 46,300 to force out Stratmeyer and Ngo reluctantly called.

Ossama Khamis: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
The Duc Ngo: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}

The {7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} runout on turn and river improved Khamis to a full house.

Another Two Down the Drain

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Roman Cieslik faced a pot-sized bet of 40,000 by Karol Konopka on the {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop and eventually moved all in for what appeared to be 46,000, Konopka piled his 55,000 and change in as well.

Roman Cieslik: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Karol Konopka: {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

The {4-Clubs} turn changed little and the {5-Clubs} river further improved Konopka to a full house.

Shortly after on the same table, "Bosko" ran out of chips and sent them over to Jan-Peter Jachtmann.
