Grosvenor Poker expects the tenth edition of the Goliath tournament to be the biggest on record with an estimated prize pool weighing in at £1 million! This August sees the Goliath return to a live setting after two years of online action, and Grosvenor Poker is pulling out all the stops to make it epic.
There are eight starting flights in total between August 27 and September 2, two of which have a turbo blind structure. Each flight costs £150 to enter (£120+£30) and play lasts for 16 levels. The first eight levels last 30-minutes with the second eight spanning 40-minutes; the turbo flights have 20-minute blinds throughout.
Players who make it through any of the flights return to the action at the Grosvenor Casino at the Coventry Building Society Arena on August 3. Here, the plan is to play another 16x 40-minute levels or until only four tables remain.
Day 3 commences at 11:00 a.m. on August 4 and continues until one player remains, the slayer of the Goliath.

"River was a good card for you?" remarked Frey after a minute in the tank.
Frey then open-folded and Xie took down the pot.

Francis Obadun raised to 800 from under the gun and saw three opponents call. The flop fell and Obadun continued for 1,600. After one player folded, the player on the button called as did Sonia Padovani from the small blind.
The action checked through on the turn before Padovani led out for 2,000 on the river. Obadun raised to 6,000 and the player on the button folded after some thought. Padovani instantly moved all in and was met nearly as quickly by a fold from Obadun.
Before Padovani collected the pot uncontested, she tabled her hand to reveal a straight flush with .

Alberto Speranzoni raised to 1,000 from the hijack and received four callers. He continued on the flop for 1,700 and only Majid Nadeem called from the cutoff. Heads-up on the turn, both players checked, and Speranzoni checked again on the river.
Nadeem bet 7,500 into the 6,300 pot and Speranzoni called after a minute in the tank. Nadeem tabled for the straight, and Speranzoni mucked.
