Thorel Eliminated by Ketzer

Level 13 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Jean-Noel Thorel
Jean-Noel Thorel

Daniel Dvoress raised to 13,000 just before the blinds went up and was called by Felipe Ketzer on the button. Jean-Noel Thorel in the small blind three-bet to 30,000 and Dvoress folded while Ketzer called.

On a flop of {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Thorel continued for 30,000 and Ketzer came along. The shove by Thorel followed on the {j-Spades} turn and Ketzer called instantly.

Jean-Noel Thorel: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Felipe Ketzer: {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

There was no card in the deck to help Thorel as the meaningless {k-Clubs} river became a formality to reduce the field to the last 14 hopefuls.

Thorel Rivers Greenwood to End His Day

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Samuel Greenwood
Samuel Greenwood

Rui Neves Ferreira raised to 12,000 in the cutoff and Sam Greenwood shipped all in for 71,000 on the button. Jean-Noel Thorel re-shoved all in from the big blind and Ferreira stepped aside.

Sam Greenwood: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Greenwood took the lead with a pair of kings. The {10-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing but the {8-Diamonds} on the river gave Thorel a set of eights to oust Greenwood.

Vieira Runs Into It

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

Joao Vieira raised to 12,000 in the cutoff and Felipe Ketzer defended from the big blind. The flop came {7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Ketzer check-called a bet of 11,000 from Vieira.

The {2-Clubs} paired the board on the turn and Ketzer check-called another bet of 32,000 on the turn. The {8-Spades} completed the board and Ketzer checked for the third time. Vieira pushed out a bet of around 75,000, leaving just 6,000 behind. Ketzer instantly moved all in and Vieira called off the last of his chips.

Ketzer turned over {3-Spades}{2-Spades} for a full house while Vieira quickly flashed {10-}{10-} before they went into the muck.

Mokri Slips Further; Grafton "Doubles" Again

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

On a completed board of {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, Kayhan Mokri led for 15,000 out of the small blind. He was only up against Nick Petrangelo in the under-the-gun position who exhausted almost his entire shot clock before raising to 55,000.

No call by Mokri followed and the Norwegian dropped below the average.

One table over, Felipe Ketzer check-called a bet of Sam Grafton for 21,000 on the {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts} turn and checked the {a-Clubs} river. Grafton bet 42,000 with 6,000 behind and Ketzer eventually paid it off.

The PokerStars ambassador showed the {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and that won the pot for all but a full double-up.

"So you can play post flop?!" Tom Orpaz joked and Grafton shot back "yeah, kings and aces ... but I fucked up the aces".

Chris Moneymaker has been forced to cease poker operations at his Kentucky card room, Moneymaker Social Club, following threats of criminal action from local authorities.

The poker room, located in Paducah, had just opened in September and had originally received approval from the then McCracken County Attorney Sam Clymer. But Clymer's replacement, Cade Foster, has reversed course on the decision to allow Moneymaker Social Club to continue spreading poker games.

Petrangelo Upends Nesterov

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Nick Petrangelo raised to 13,000 in middle position and Jakov Nesterov pushed all in for around 70,000 on his left. The action folded back to Petrangelo who called to put Nesterov at risk.

Jakov Nesterov: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Nick Petrangelo: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Petrangelo flopped two pair to take a healthy lead. There was no help for Nesterov on the {4-Spades}, {j-Diamonds} runout and he was eliminated.

At an adjacent table, Simon Mattsson lost the rest of his short stack to Felipe Ketzer, bringing the field down to just 17 players.

Adams Bounced by Vieira

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

Joao Vieira jammed into the big blind of short stack Timothy Adams and the latter checked his cards before folding. Soon after, the remainder of Adams' stack went into the middle preflop and it was Vieira who looked him up.

Timothy Adams: {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Joao Vieira: {10-Spades}{8-Spades}

The suited live cards of the Portuguese connected with the {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop and there was no escape for Adams with the {2-Clubs} turn nor the {7-Spades} river.
