Back Down Goes Lin

Level 24 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Ren Lin open-shipped all in from the cutoff and Andre Marques slid in his last 785,000 chips in the small blind. The big blind folded and the two hands were face up.

Andre Marques: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Ren Lin: {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Marques held the better of the two pocket pairs and was in great shape for another double. The board ran out {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Marques had it locked up on the turn.

Once Upon Another Double Up

Level 24 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Pedro Garagnani
Pedro Garagnani

Kayhan Mokri made it 200,000 to go in the hijack and then called the all-in by Pedro Garagnani for the last 490,000 in the hijack.

Pedro Garagnani: {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Kayhan Mokri: {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Garagnani solidified his lead with the {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop and locked up the double on the {6-Diamonds} turn, making the {9-Clubs} river a formality.

"This is fuckin hard, the hardest final table ... just can't bust anyone," Mokri chirped with a dry smile on the face.

"Ginormous" PCA Sets the Tone for 2023 Ahead of EPT Paris says Walsh

Level 24 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Nick Walsh
Nick Walsh

There was an incredible start to the year with the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship at the stunning Baha Mar Resort in The Bahamas.

And PokerStars Ambassador Nick Walsh says that things are heading in a really good direction when it comes to the live poker scene.

“The French — they absolutely love poker,” he told PokerNews. I'm expecting a very, very large event. Not just because of where live poker is right now, but I know it's been a while since we've had a stop close enough for the French to attend that wasn't Monte Carlo.”

Chalk Another One Up for Lin

Level 23 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Pablo Navarro was the big stack at the table and pushed all in from the cutoff. Ren Lin was in the big blind and wasted no time before sticking in his 670,000 chips.

Ren Lin: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Pablo Navarro: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Lin doubled up once more, much to the demise of the rest of the table who were looking for a pay jump.

Mokri And Ferreira Pais Take From Orpaz

Level 23 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Kayhan Mokri raised from under the gun to 160,000 and was called by Tom Orpaz in the big blind. On a {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, Orpaz check-called for 80,000 and that led them to the {9-Diamonds} turn. Both now checked and Orpaz quickly grabbed into his stack on the {2-Hearts} river before betting 250,000.

Mokri used two time banks and called for Orpaz to declare "you win". He was shown the {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} by Mokri and mucked his cards, declaring he had flopped a straight and flush draw.

Shortly thereafter, Mauricio Ferreira Pais was the preflop aggressor in the cutoff and Orpaz came along out of the small blind. The {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop was checked and Orpaz bet the {7-Hearts} turn for 125,000, picking up a call from Ferreira Pais.

Following the {2-Clubs} river, Orpaz bet another 150,000 and Ferreira Pais tossed in a single chip for the call. Orpaz announced a nine before showing {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Ferreira Pais had that beat with {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for a pair of tens.

Nobody Wants to Bust

Level 23 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Ren Lin pushed his short stack of 295,000 into the middle and the action was on Mauricio Ferreira Pais in the small blind.

"If he doesn't call, I'll call blind," Pablo Navarro said in the big blind before the dealer interrupted that there shouldn't be any talking that influences the action.

Ferreira Pais shoved all in and Navarro was forced to fold, leaving just two hands face up on the table.

Ren Lin: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Mauricio Ferreira Pais: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and the double-pair on the board gave Lin a double-up, that not all players at the table saw.

"I don't understand how he wins," Tom Orpaz piped up before the dealer explained.

"I'm playing with a bunch of people who don't even know the rules," Kayhan Mokri chimed in.

Navarro Doubles to a Big Stack

Level 23 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Pablo Navarro
Pablo Navarro

Pablo Navarro in middle position and Ren Lin clashed to unleash the most classic of races in the following showdown.

Pablo Navarro: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Ren Lin: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Lin had found his trademark "Lady Gaga" but it was Navarro who came out on top on the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} board on which he made a full house. Navarro then also won the next hand post flop to become the current chip leader by a small margin.

Ferreira Pais Outkicks Lin

Level 23 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Ren Lin opened to 200,000 in early position and Mauricio Ferreira Pais three-bet to 600,000 from the cutoff. The action folded back to Lin who four-bet shoved all in and Ferreira Pais instantly called off his stack of 1,035,000.

Mauricio Ferreira Pais: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Ren Lin: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Ferreira Pais was in a dominating lead and held on to that throughout the {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{a-Spades} board to score a double-up.
