Seidel Spikes the River on Ghojehvand

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Quan Zhou raised to 6,000 from the hijack before Erik Seidel three-bet to 16,500 in the cutoff. Armin Ghojehvand, on the button, then moved all in for 65,000. Zhou folded, but Seidel called to put him at risk.

Armin Ghojehvand: JJ
Erik Seidel: K7

Ghojehvand remained in front through the turn on a board of 91038, but the J on the river gave Ghojehvand a set but Seidel a straight as Ghojehvand was sent to the rail in cruel fashion.

A Cautious Orbit With Table 2

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

Showdowns have been hard to find after the break at Table 2, where Timothy Adams holds a small lead.

Hand 1: Quan Zhou raised to 6,000 from early position and Erik Seidel called from the cutoff before Conor Beresford came along from the big blind. The flop was 5510 and a 6,500 bet from Beresford was enough to take it down.

Hand 2: Ottomar Ladva raised to 5,500 from the button and Adams called from the big blind. The flop was 885 and Adams checked. Ladva bet 3,500 but Adams check-raised to 12,000 to take the pot with Ladva's fold.

Hand 3: Armin Ghojehvand raised to 5,500 from middle position and Beresford raised to 15,000. That was too much for Ghojehvand and he gave it up.

Hand 4: Timothy Adams raised to 6,000 and the rest of the table folded.

Hand 5: Erik Seidel limped in and Ghojehvand checked. The flop was 697 and Seidel bet to take the pot.

Hand 6: Beresford raised to 5,000 from under the gun and Ladva called from the big blind. The flop was AQ10 and Ladva check-folded to a 9,000 bet.

Small Ball Prevails

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Eduard Barsegyan raised to 5,500 from early position and was called by Seyed Dezfooli on the button and Kayhan Mokri in the big blind.

Action checked to Dezfooli on the 7QA flop and he bet 5,000. Mokri quickly folded, but Barsegyan called to the 5 turn. Dezfooli then bet another 10,000 and Barsegyan mucked.

The next hand, Mokri limped in, then called when Felipe Ketzer raised to 8,000. Both players checked to the river on a board of Q74J3 when Mokri led out for 6,000.

Ketzer burned a time bank card before he called. Mokri then turned over 73 for two pair.

"No bluffing Brazilians," he said as he raked in the pot.

Lukas "RobinPoker" Robinson

On the latest PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards welcome Matt Hansen as a new co-host of the show. Matt has been doing a lot of work behind the scenes for PokerNews, and now we're putting a microphone in front of him to draw on his deep knowledge of the industry and get some of his hot takes.
That included his thoughts on the WSOP Paradise schedule, a poker player's yacht burning in the Mediterranean, and Ben Mintz returning to BarStool after Dave Portnoy bought back the company.

Chad then chats with this week's guest, Lukas "RobinPoker" Robinson, the new PokerNews Online Poker Ambassador. He talks about playing 1,000 hours of poker in 100 days, playing the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event alongside his father, and how listeners can have a chance at a $10,000 seat in December's World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship at Wynn thanks to a special promotion in conjunction with WPT Global.

Listen to those stories and more on the latest episode of the PokerNews Podcast!

Eychenne Heroes Ketzer For a Double

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

The remaining players had already headed off on break as Felipe Ketzer and Thomas Eychenne were heads-up on a board of K10A8J and already 50,000 in the middle.

Ketzer, in the small blind, used a time bank before he bet enough to put Eychenne all in. It was then Eychenne's turn to tank before he called for his last 28,000.

Ketzer showed J9 for a pair of jacks, but Eychenne had K4 for kings to win the pot.

"The jack was the worst card. I had to bluff that combo. It was so good," Ketzer said.

Mokri Catches Kerber Bluffing

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Kayhan Mokri
Kayhan Mokri

Heads-up on a flop of 7K6, Kelvin Kerber bet 10,000 from the small blind and Kayhan Mokri called in the cutoff.

The turn came the 5 and Kerber pushed his last 35,000 in the middle. Mokri practically beat him into the pot and turned over AA, while Kerber showed J8 for a straight draw.

The 5 river missed Kerber as he was sent to the rail.
