Hands #154 - #158: Malec Takes a Slim Lead

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 50,000 ante
Sebastian Malec
Sebastian Malec

Hand #154: Reichenstein raised to 1.25m on the button with {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and when Malec raised to 3m with {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} , Reichenstein made the call. The flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs} saw both players check. The turn of {A-Spades} saw Malec bet 5 million! Reichenstein got out of the way.

Hand #155: Reichenstein called with {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Malec checked with {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} . The flop came {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Reichenstein checked. Malec bet and immediately took it away.

Hand #156: This time it was {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for Malec and he called Reichenstein's raise to around 1.6m. It was {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for Reichenstein, who on the flop {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} , checked, as did Malec. The turn of {9-Hearts} saw Reichenstein make it 2.5m and Malec sensationally raised to 6 million chips! Reichenstein folded.

Hand #157: Malec called with {A-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Reichenstein his big blind to a flop of {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{J-Spades} which was checked twice. The turn of {9-Clubs} got two checks also, as did the {K-Clubs} river. Malec had the best hand and swept the pot.

Hand #158: Reichenstein held {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and raised to 1.25m. Malec called with {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and on the flop of {2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Spades} led for what looked like 2.6m. Reichenstein, who missed yet another flop, let it go.

Somehow, the two players are incredibly level with 106 big blinds in play. Malec has the slight edge but this dramatic finale could still go either way.

Hand #149: Reichenstein got a walk.

Hand #150: Reichenstein raised with {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} and won the pot.

Hand #152: Reichenstein got a walk.

Hand #153: Malec raised to 1,100,000 with {6-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Reichenstein called {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. Malec flopped two pair on {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Reichenstein checked, Malec bet 700,000, and Reichenstein check-raised his queen high to 2,600,000.

Once again, it was bad timing for Reichenstein to make a move, as Malec was sitting on a monster. Malec, who was standing up throughout the hand, danced around in his place as he counted out the chips.

Malec was thinking for so long that Reichenstein called the clock on him. When the countdown started, Malec three-bet to 5,900,000, and Reichenstein snap-folded.

Malec won't be winning the Oscar any time soon, but he did win this pot.

Hands #144 - #148: Reichenstein Master of his Domain

The river of {8-Diamonds} with 10.8m in the pot saw both check and Reichenstein won another big one. Uri Reichenstein has a 2:1 chip lead with just half an hour left at this level.

Uri Reichenstein Doubles Up

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 50,000 ante
Uri Reichenstein
Uri Reichenstein

Hand #141: Sebastian Malec got a walk.

Hand #142: Malec limped the button with {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Uri Reichenstein checked {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. The flop {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} hit Malec hard, and he took it down with a 1,650,000 bet.

Hand #143: Reichenstein raised with {10-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Malec called with {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Malec check-called a bet of 1,000,000 on the {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}. Malec checked, and Reichenstein now bet 2,400,000. Malec asked for a count of Reichenstein's stack, then called the turn.

The {J-Clubs} on the river was exactly what Reichenstein needed, as he filled his straight up. Malec laughed and joked, but when Reichenstein shoved 10,550,000 into the nine million pot, it was no laughing matter anymore.

"I want to call you so bad," Malec said, and he rose from his chair. For minutes on end, he named all the possible holdings Reichenstein could have in his range, desperately trying to find a holding he could beat.

"It's a very good spot for me to call," Malec said, having done two minutes of math out loud, while using words that would make many a recreational player's head spin.

"Ok, I call," Malec said ten seconds later, sliding a tower of 500,000-chips forward. Reichenstein quickly flipped over his straight, and a visibly gutted Malec had to ship ten million in chips to his opponent. Reichenstein scored a huge double up and reclaimed the chiplead.

Hand #137: Malec {J-Spades}{6-Hearts} opened to 1.6m, but Reichenstein folded {9-Spades}{5-Spades}, meaning Malec took another. "Half an hour more." Malec told his rail when they asked how much longer he would take to win.

Malec Takes The Chiplead With Quad Fours

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #133: Sebastian Malec raised to 900,000 with {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Reichenstein picked up a big hand with {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}. He three-bet to 2,000,000, and Malec snap-folded.

Hand #134: Reichenstein picked up another monster, {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}, and raised to 1,000,000. Malec defended with {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and got a piece of the {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, and he check-called a 900,000 bet from Reichenstein.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and both players checked. The {2-Spades} river missed Reichenstein's outs, and both went to showdown. Malec's pair of tens took down the pot.

Hand #135; Malec limped the button with {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Reichenstein put in a big raise, making it 1,400,000 with the optional {Q-Spades}{6-Clubs}, and Malec called. The call paid off, as Malec flopped a set on {A-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop to take a commanding lead in the hand. Reichenstein continued with 1,400,000, Malec slowplayed his monster and just called.

The {10-Spades} turn left Reichenstein drawing dead, but the German kept fighting for the pot. He fired a hefty bet of 3,300,000. The trap still wasn't sprung by Malec, as he once again smooth-called in position.

The {4-Diamonds} only made things spicier, as Malec improved to quad fours! The pot already had grown to 12,300,000 and Reichenstein was in a world of trouble. He bet 6,200,000, chips he wouldn't be seeing again soon.

It was time for Malec to come out of the woodworks, but not before a little Hollywooding, After two minutes, Malec delivered the bad news and shoved for 17,900,000, leaving Reichenstein no option but to fold immediately. For the first time since the two started the heads-up match, Malec grabbed the chiplead.

Hands #127-129: A raise and take it from Malec, then Reichenstein followed suit by raising with jack-high. Malec returned the favour in the next hand. Neither of these two players have been keen to get into it post-flop following their food.

Hand #131: Malec raised in position with {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to one million chips and Reichenstein called with {J-Clubs}{6-Hearts} .The flop of {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{K-Spades} saw a c-bet from Malec and a call from Reichenstein.
