Jattin Gets Huge Double

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Farid Jattin
Farid Jattin

Tom Rafferty checked an {8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} board and Farid Jattin bet 60,000 from the button. Rafferty made it 210,000 and Jattin called, bringing a {2-Spades} river. Rafferty announced 420,000 and Jattin shoved for 195,000 more. A distressed Rafferty called after a few moments and Jattin showed {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for tens full. Rafferty flicked in his {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a worthless flush.

Yake Wu Eliminated in 9th Place (A$111,540)

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Ami Barer and Yake Wu
Ami Barer and Yake Wu

A mere minute after Dietrich Fast had departed, the other short stack ended up all in and it was Yake Wu that pushed for 108,000 from the under-the-gun position. Farid Jattin on the button asked for a count and made the call, the blinds folded.

Yake Wu: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Farid Jattin: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

The {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop provided some potential for a chop but Jattin paired up on the {j-Clubs} turn. Wu had just four outs to a straight and the {6-Clubs} river was a blank to send him to the payout desk in 9th place for A$111,540.

Dietrich Fast Eliminated in 10th Place (A$111,540)

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Dietrich Fast
Dietrich Fast

Dietrich Fast opened for 140,000 in the cutoff and Steve O'Dwyer called on the button. Fast did the clock dance on the {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop, checking and tanking until someone called a clock when O'Dwyer bet his last 15,000 or so. Finally, Fast called with {k-Spades}{8-Spades}, needing help against {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. The {a-Clubs} turn sealed it for O'Dwyer.

Fast Drops to 10 Big Blinds

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

On the tail end of a hand between Dietrich Fast in the big blind and Steve O'Dwyer from under the gun, the board showed {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

Fast checked and O'Dwyer opted for a bet of 102,000, which was called by the German. O'Dwyer tabled {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of tens and that won the pot, sending Fast all the way down to just 10 big blinds.

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

George Wolff three-bet to 115,000 in the small blind over an open from Tom Rafferty, who peeled in the cutoff for a {6-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop. Wolff bet 140,000 and Rafferty called. Both checked the {4-Spades}, bringing a {4-Hearts}. Wolff bet 360,000 and Rafferty thought about a minute and mucked.

Greenwood Doubles Through Sinclair

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Sam Greenwood raised from under the gun and called the three-bet by Jack Sinclair out of the big blind. Sinclair continued for 125,000 on the {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop and picked up a call to then jam the {q-Hearts} turn. Greenwood called instantly and the cards were turned over.

Sam Greenwood: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Jack Sinclair: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Greenwood was the player at risk but had the best of it with his flopped set of tens. A blank {7-Hearts} on the river further improved his hand to a full house and the Canadian doubled for 346,000.

Martin Zamani
Martin Zamani

Martin Zamani raised to 27,000 in the cutoff and called when Kenny Hallaert shoved for 325,000 effective in the big blind. Zamani was racing with {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and expressed confidence he'd double against {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}.

The deck had other ideas as Hallaert was the one improving on the {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} board.

Tom Rafferty raised on the button to 27,000 and called the shove of Chino Rheem, who had about 150,000 more in the small blind. Rheem was in rough shape with {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} against {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and did not improve on the {q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades} board.

It's Rheem's second straight cash in this event after he came third last year for A$416,760.
