Lamb First Chip Millionaire

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Mustapha Kanit raised to 22,000 and picked up two callers in Jack Salter and Ben Lamb out of the blinds. The trio checked through the {J-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop and Salter also checked the {Q-Hearts} turn. Lamb made it 45,000 to go and Kanit folded, while Salter called.

After the {2-Spades} river, Salter checked once more and called a bet of 80,000 by Lamb after brief consideration. As soon as Lamb rolled over {Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for two pair, Salter nodded and sent his cards into the muck. The Brit dropped to around 22 big blinds as a result, while Lamb climbed above one million in chips.

Michael Gathy Eliminated in 10th Place (A$82,080)

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

Roger Teska's raise to 22,000 on the button was called by Michael Gathy on the big blind. The Belgian check-raised all in after a flop of {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for what appeared to be 150,000 and Teska called after having invested 25,000 for a continuation bet already.

Michael Gathy: {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Roger Teska: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The kicker problem of Gathy found some hope with the {Q-Spades} turn, but a blank {A-Hearts} river gave Teska two pair and sent Gathy to the rail in 10th place for A$82,080.

The Action Slows Down

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Kitty Kuo raised to 25,000 and Brian Yoon defended the small blind. On the {5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop both players checked and Yoon check-folded the {4-Spades} turn to a bet worth 18,000.

Michael Gathy limped the small blind and Ben Lamb raised to 32,000 out of the big blind, Gathy called. On the {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop no action followed before Gathy check-folded the {K-Clubs} turn to a bet by Lamb.

Roger Teska defended his big blind against the button raise of Lamb and checked the {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} flop. Lamb bet 25,000 and Teska called. Both then checked through the {J-Spades} turn and {10-Clubs} river and Lamb as last aggressor showed {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Teska had that beat with {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and claimed the pot.

Young Chips Up Through Yap

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

On a {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs} turn Wayne Yap bet 45,000 and opponent Rory Young called.

The river was the {7-Hearts} and Yap bet 105,000. Young thought about his decision before pushing his chips out quickly to make the call.

Yap turned over {2-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a missed gutshot straight draw, while Young took down the pot with {q-Clubs}{10-Spades} for top pair.

Yap, Young and Schwippert Take from Yoon

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Brian Yoon lost a bigger pot when Wayne Yap made two pair with {A-Clubs}{3-Spades} and then raised to 18,000 in the last hand of the previous level. Rory Young three-bet to 50,000 on the button and Yoon called. On the {Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, a check was followed by a continuation bet of Young and Yoon quickly folded.

Once the blinds went up, Yoon claimed the blinds and antes once and then faced a raise to 22,000 by Young and a call from Jan-Eric Schwippert in the small blind. Yoon called from the big blind and the flop of {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} was checked by both players in the blinds. Young continued for 25,000 and picked up two calls.

There was no betting action on the {10-Clubs} turn and Schwippert checked the {4-Spades} river. Yoon made it 80,000 to go, forcing a quick fold from Young. Schwippert needed longer for his decision and eventually called to see Yoon briefly turn over {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. That was not good enough to rake in the pot, as Schwippert had [7s7d for a full house.

Jack Salter raised to 18,000 on the button and Claas Segebrecht three-bet all in for 178,000 from the small blind. Ben Lamb folded his big blind and Salter agonized over his decision before calling.

Claas Segebrecht: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out clean, giving no help for Segebrecht, coming {6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Segebrecht was sent to the rail in 11th place for A$68,400.

Yoon Chips Up

Level 15 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On the turn of a board {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, Wayne Yap in the small blind and Brian Yoon in the cutoff invested 75,000 each. Yap also checked the {3-Hearts} on the river and Yoon cut out a bet. Before the chips had hit the table, Yap had already folded to forfeit the pot.

Soon after Yoon dragged in another pot when calling a bet of 30,000 by Michael Gathy on the {J-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} river. Gathy was caught bluffing with the {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Yoon had that bneat with {Q-Spades}{8-Spades}.
