White Flops Big Time

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

On the table of Eric Theissen, Kyle White flipped against a short stack with {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} versus {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} and the flop {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{A-Hearts} was more than just a small step towards victory. The short stack needed two magic sixes in the deck to avoid elimination, but found no help on {J-Hearts} turn and {7-Clubs} river.

Theissen stood up soon after and left the tournament after being knocked out.

Brutal Beat for Gubieski

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Nathan Gubieski raised to 4,000 from early position and the player in the small blind pushed all in for just over 20,000. Gubieski snap-called with an even stack and flipped over {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. His opponent only held {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}, but the flop {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} was some magic. Neither the {Q-Spades} turn nor the {4-Spades} river changed anything and the kings of Gubieski were cracked in brutal fashion.

Less Than 100 Remain

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

After eight levels there were already less than one third participants of the 371-entry strong field remaining and the first half of level 10 saw the screens being updated to only 99 players remaining. At the current pace, around 50 players will be bagging chips at the end of level 12.

The Field Gets United

The 15-minute break is over but the clock has been paused. According to tournament staff, the remaining four tables of the poker room are on their way over to the Exhibition Centre and once they have taken their seats and the field has been united, action for the last three levels of tonight will get underway.
