Kapoor Pulls Away; Puchalski Draws Even

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Akshay Kapoor raised to 160,000 on the button and Alexander Puchalski defended the big blind. They checked down the {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} board and Puchalski tabled the {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}, which Kapoor had beat with the {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. It was the third pot in a row for Kapoor, who took the lead.

Renniel Galvez then opened to 160,000 on the button for both of his opponents to call. The {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop was checked around and the {4-Hearts} followed on the turn. Puchalski bet 220,000 and Kapoor called while Galvez folded.

No betting action followed on the {2-Clubs} river and Puchalski won the pot with the {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for top pair.

Nevan Chang
Nevan Chang

Nevan Chang raised to 160,000 on the button and Akshay Kapoor three-bet to 340,000 in the small blind. The shove by Chang followed and Kapoor beat him into the pot. Renniel Galvez exposed his folded {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a second when the action was closed as a rail gathered to see the showdown.

Nevan Chang: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Akshay Kapoor: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Chang asked for an ace and got his wish granted on the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop. Galvez asked for a ten to have a sweat and that's what came with the {10-Diamonds} turn. Now it was Kapoor who wished to see a specific card and demanded a king.

The {k-Spades} fell on the river indeed to eliminate Chang in fourth place for $35,590.

Puchalski Claims the Lead From Kapoor

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Alexander Puchalski made it 160,000 to go and Akshay Kapoor in the small blind was interested as he leaned out of his chair. "How much are you playing?" he asked Puchalski and it was Renniel Galvez that provided an estimate.

Kapoor three-bet to 600,000 and Galvez stared at Puchalski without noticing that he had not folded from the big blind yet, which came with the loss of one time bank after he was made aware of it and folded. Puchalski then called and they headed to the {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. Kapoor bet 300,000 and Puchalski called.

The {k-Clubs} turn went check, check, and the {10-Diamonds} river paired the board. Kapoor checked again and Puchalski moved all-in to force a snap-fold from his opponent.

Kapoor Jams Into the Lead

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Akshay Kapoor limped in the small blind and Renniel Galvez raised to 260,000 in the big blind. On a {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, Kapoor checked and subsequently called a bet worth 175,000 by Galvez.

Neither player invested any chips on the {10-Hearts} turn and they saw the {k-Clubs} river for free, with Kapoor checking quickly. Galvez bet 700,000 and Kapoor checked his remaining stack before he pushed all-in to force a snap-fold from Galvez.

With that larger pot, Kapoor wrestled the lead away from Galvez who had been picked on by the other three players on multiple occassions.

After the next quick hand, the four players went on a short unscheduled break.

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Renniel Galvez limped in and then called a raise to 200,000 by Alexander Puchalski. On the {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop, both players checked and Galvez check-called the {6-Hearts} turn for 200,000.

The {10-Clubs} river was checked again and Galvez tabled the {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a pair of tens, which was beaten by the {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} of Puchalski.

Another Showdown Pot for Kapoor

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Akshay Kapoor had raised on the button and was called by Alexander Puchalski in the big blind. Picking up the action on the {q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} turn, Puchalski check-called a bet worth 130,000 and they checked the {9-Diamonds} on the river.

Puchalski revealed the {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for a missed straight draw that improved to nines and deuces but Kapoor had the best hand with the {k-Spades}{j-Spades}.

Kapoor Doubles Through Chang

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Akshay Kapoor
Akshay Kapoor

Nevan Chang had raised the previous had and then folded to a check-raise by Alexander Puchalski on the {7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop.

One hand later, Akshay Kapoor open-jammed his short stack and it folded to Chang in the big blind. He peeked at the first card and then sweated the second before he snap-called thereafter.

Akshay Kapoor: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Nevan Chang: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Ace-nine suited had been running very well on this final table but didn't connect yet with the {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop. Kapoor asked for the ten of spades but received the {4-Spades} turn instead. It was then the {9-Hearts} that came on the river for the Indian to escape from elimination.

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Nevan Chang raised to 125,000 as the first player to act and was called by Alexander Puchalski. On a {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop, Puchalski check-called for 150,000 and the {j-Diamonds} turn went check, check.

Puchalski also checked the {10-Hearts} river and Chang bet 225,000. The call with some hesitation by Puchalski followed but he couldn't beat the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} of Chang.
