Short-Stacks Battle

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Daniel Spence moved all-in for his last 64,000 from under the gun, as one by one the players folded. The other short stack on the table, Anthony Wright, looked down at his cards, and made the call.

Spence: {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Wright: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

Board: {2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Spence was able to hit a three-outer and hold, moving up to 146,000 as Wright falls down to 65,000 in chips.

A few hands later, it would be Anthony Wright moving all-in for his last 52,000 in chips from the button, and getting called by Magnus Karlsson on the big blind.

Wright: {K-Spades}{8-Spades}
Karlsson: {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}

Board: {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Wright was able to spike an eight on the flop to find a double to bring him back over the 100,000-chip mark.

Spence Doubles Through Sim

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Daniel Spence opened the action by shoving his last 57,000 in the middle, and Jae Kyung Sim was the lone caller from the small blind. Spence was in great shape, as his {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} had Sim's {q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} crushed. Nothing changed as the board ran down {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, and Spence got the much needed double up to 125,000.

Sim Crushing

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Jim Collopy started the hand by opening to 25,000 from under the gun, as Jae Kyung Sim came along for the ride. The flop came {K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, and Collopy threw out a continuation bet of 24,000 which was called. Both players checked when the {2-Hearts} fell on the turn, before the {A-Diamonds} completed the board.

Collopy again bet out 58,000, before being met a raise to 153,000 from Sim a minute later. He thought for a moment and made the call, before mucking in disgust, when Sim tabled his {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for a flush.

Aces Everywhere!

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Wow. We've just seen players double up on back-to-back hands, and improbably, they were holding pocket aces both times. On the first hand, action folded to Anthony Wright in the small blind, and he announced all in, a move that would set the big blind, Daniel Spence, all in. Almost before the dealer could confirm that Wright had said all in, Spence said "I call."

Spence: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Wright: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

It was a blind vs blind cooler for Wright, who was looking for a ten to secure the knockout. It never came though, as the board ran down {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{k-Spades}. That hand bumped Spence up to 330,000, while knocking Wright down to 200,000.

On the very next hand, Jim Collopy raised it up to 25,000. It folded to Spence in the small blind, and he said "I'm all in." Collopy rechecked his hole cards, then quickly dropped chips into the pot, signifying a call.

Spence: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Collopy: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

This time, Spence was the one up against it, and while the flop brought all spades, {7-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}, it was useless to Spence, as Collopy held the {a-Spades}. The {10-Clubs} on the turn ended it, and the meaningless river was the {2-Hearts}.

When the dust settled, Collopy was left with 480,000, while Spence plummeted all the way to 75,000.

Comeback for Sim

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The action started with Jim Collopy opening to 25,000 form the cut-off, as Jae Kyung Sim, Anthony Wright and Daniel Spence all made the call from the button and blinds respectively.

The flop came down {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} as Wright and Spence checked. Collopy threw out a continuation bet of 36,000, which was called by Sim and Spence. The {3-Spades} fell on the turn, and Spence once again called. Collopy slowed down and checked, before Sim bet out 70,000 in chips.

Spence snap-mucked his hand, before Collopy went into the tank for a minute. He eventually mucked his hand, surrendering the pot to Sim.

Karlsson Takes on Sim

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The hand started with Magnus Karlsson opening to 25,000 and finding a call from Jae Kyung Sim on the big blind. The flop came {9-Spades}{Q-Spades}{A-Spades}, and Sim checked, before Karlsson led out 30,000. Sim thought for a minute, before raising to 100,000 in chips. Karlsson didn't look to fazed, as he quickly announced all-in for 440,000 in chips. He lay his head down on his arms, and waited for Sim's decision. A minute passed, as Sim let go of his hand.

Sim Coolers Collopy For Million Chip Pot

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Things seemed to be unraveling for our chip leader Jae Kyung Sim, as he had lost every big pot he entered over the last 45 minutes. However, as often happens in poker, that all changed in one hand, as he is back up to 1.7 million.

Collopy raised to 32,000 from the small blind, and Sim defended his big blind. The flop came down {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}, and Collopy c-bet to 36,000. Kim made the call, and the {6-Hearts} hit the turn. Collopy checked this time, and Kim took about 15 seconds before grabbing a stack of yellow T5,000 chips, and sliding it in, a bet of 100,000. Collopy made the call, and the river brought the {9-Spades}.

Collopy checked, and Sim wasted little time in announcing 400,000! He started slamming the stacks into the middle of the table, and Collopy thought for just a few moments before dropping chips in the for the call. Sim shot up out of his chair, and tabled {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a full house. Collopy shook his head, showed the {9-Clubs} for trip nines, and mucked his hand.

After that huge pot, Sim is back up to 1.7 million, while Collopy, who has been first or second in chips all day, plummets to 245,000.

Karlsson Does it Again

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Jae Kyung Sim was first to act, and opened to 30,000 as the next two players got out of the way. The decision was on Magnus Karlsson, who looked down at his cards, and quickly announced all-in. Jim Collopy folded from the big blind, before Sim went into the tank. He counted out the call, and placed it aside, before counting the remainder of his stack. He eventually made the call, as both players tabled their cards.

Karlsson: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Sim: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Board: {K-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

Sim was in great shape to take out his fifth player in a row, as the flop and turn were no help to Karlsson. However, the {q-Diamonds} spiked on the river to give Karlsson the win, sending him over 400,000 in chips.

Sim drops down to just over a million in chips.
