Tolhopf Takes it Down

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The hand started with Ashley Mason opening to 80,000 from under the gun and getting called by Bowdy Tolhopf in the blinds.

The flop came down {9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Tolhopf checked. Mason threw out a continuation bet of 105,000 and was called.

Both players then checked down the {a-Hearts} on the turn and {3-Hearts} on the river. Tolhopf tabled his {j-Spades}{8-Spades} which was good enough to take down the pot, as Mason mucked his hand.

Not Too Much Action

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

There hasn't been too many flops seen over the last few orbits. One hand that did see some cards spread on the felt started when Bowdy Tolhopf opened to 80,000 from the button. Billy Argyros called from the big blind and the dealer turned over a {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop.

Both players checked here and a {9-Clubs} hit the turn. When Argyros checked, Tolhopf bet 105,000 and Argyros quickly folded.

The four remaining players are extremely deep, with the average stack being around 60 big blinds. We don't expect this to be over very soon at all.

Mason Clashes with Yan

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

[Removed:17] started things off with a bet of 85,000 from the button. Bowdy Tolhopf folded from the small blind, before Ashley Mason raised it up to 210,000 from the big blind. Yan made the call as the two watched the flop come down {8-Spades}{2-Spades}{a-Spades}.

Mason reached for his chips and threw out a continuation bet of 125,000 which was called. When the {k-Clubs} fell on the turn, Mason led out for another 185,000. Yan took a little bit of time to make his decision before electing to call.

The river brought the {9-Spades} and Mason went into the tank. A couple of minutes went by before Mason announced all in, totaling 705,000 in chips. Yan sat up in his chair and contemplated his decision. He finally made the call but mucked his hand when Mason rolled over his {k-Spades}{8-Hearts} for the nut flush.

The action started with Bowdy Tolhopf opening to 65,000 from the button. Robert Damelian was on the big blind and looked down at his cards before announcing all in for 530,000 in chips. The blinds got out of the way, before the decision was back on Tolhopf.

“Is that 500?” asked Tolhopf, before making the call after Damelian acknowledged his question.

Tolhopf: {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Damelian: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Damelian was at risk but had the best hand, until the flop came down {5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Damelian would need to hit and eight or running straight cards but it wasn’t to be. The turn and river fell the {q-Clubs} and{j-Diamonds} to see Damelian exit in 5th place receiving $45,900 for his efforts.

Croc Staying Active

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Billy Argyros has continued to win some handy pots. Most recently Argyros was involved in a hand against Ashley Mason. The action started with Mason opening the button to 60,000. Argyros called out of the big blind and the dealer flipped over a {7-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop. Both players checked and a {8-Diamonds} hit the turn. Argyros checked here and MAson bet 75,000. A call from Argyros and an {a-Spades} completed the board.

Both players checked the river and at showdown, Argyros showed {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} - enough to beat out Mason's {q-Spades}{6-Spades}.
