Christopher Kyriacou Eliminated in 7th Place (£6,500)

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Christopher Kyriacou
Christopher Kyriacou

Only a few minutes after the departure of Carlos Sanchez Diaz, the next short stack made a move and that happened to be Christopher Kyriacou. Tom Hall raised to 70,000 on the button and Kyriacou jammed for 304,000 in the small blind. Pascal Pflock in the big blind asked for a count and folded, Hall eventually called.

Christopher Kyriacou: {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Tom Hall: {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}

"Oh, that's your winning hand from earlier against the sixes," Matas Cimbolas said. Hall paired up on the {J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop and remained in the lead throughout the {10-Diamonds} turn and {9-Hearts} river. Kyriacou, who came into the nine-handed unofficial final table as shortest stack, laddered up some and takes home £6,500 for his 7th place finish.

Carlos Sanchez Diaz Eliminated in 8th Place (£4,000)

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Carlos Sanchez Diaz
Carlos Sanchez Diaz

Down to the last 393,000, Carlos Sanchez Diaz moved all in from the button and Thomas Muehloecker called out of the big blind.

Carlos Sanchez Diaz: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Thomas Muehloecker: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The Spaniard was the player at risk and Muehloecker took the lead on the {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop. Nothing much changed with the {A-Spades} turn, as Sanchez Diaz was still looking for one of the two remaining sixes in the deck. It wasn't meant to be, as the {9-Clubs} fell on the river to send Sanchez Diaz to the rail. He receives £4,000 for his efforts.

Cimbolas Jams Into Kyriacou

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Matas Cimbolas on the button and Christopher Kyriacou clashed in a minor pot and the former defended his big blind before betting the {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop for 80,000. Cimbolas gave it some thought and moved all in, which saw Kyriacou use one time bank and elect to fold.

Kyriacou Chips Up Further

Level 17 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Thomas Muehloecker raised it up to 55,000 and Christopher Kyriacou in the cutoff three-bet to 135,000, which Muehloecker called. On a flop of {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Muehloecker checked and the shove of Kyriacou was followed by a quick fold from Muehloecker.

Paul Hizer made it 55,000 to go first to act and Pascal Pflock three-bet to 165,000 in the cutoff, which ended the hand right there.

One for Hall and Kyriacou

Level 17 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Carlos Sanchez Diaz and Tom Hall headed to the {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} turn with 250,000 in the pot and Hall had checked over to the Spaniard, who bet 145,000. Hall used one time bank before cutting out a check-raise to 700,000 and Sanchez Diaz folded.

"What was that about with the shaking hands? You with all the experience, Tom" Christopher Kyriacou said to his table neighbor and Hall grinned.

One hand later, Kyriacou was in the big blind and called a raise to 55,000 by Thomas Muehloecker. Kyriacou checked blind and called a bet of 35,000 on the {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop. On the {3-Clubs} turn, both players elected to check and the {7-Hearts} came on the river. Kyriacou bet 100,000 with some 160,000 behind and Muehloecker used one time bank before sliding his cards into the muck.

Martin Donoghue Eliminated in 9th Place (£2,000)

Level 17 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Martin Donoghue
Martin Donoghue

Pascal Pflock raised and called the shove of Martin Donoghue in the big blind to create the following showdown.

Martin Donoghue: {K-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Pascal Pflock: {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

The {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop changed nothing much, however, the {Q-Spades} turn left Donoghue drawing dead. A meaningless {4-Spades} fell on the river and Donoghue headed to the payout desk to collect £2,000 for his efforts based on the bubble deal that had been struck.

Hall Doubles Into the Lead

Level 17 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Tom Hall
Tom Hall

Tom Hall, who happens to be the defending champion in the £1,100 Main Event here at the Aspers Casino, has just doubled through Martin Donoghue and jumped into a commanding lead.

Donoghue raised to 65,000 first to act and Tom Hall in late position three-bet to 190,000, Donoghue called. On the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop, Donoghue check-shoved into a 190,000 continuation bet and Hall snap-called.

Tom Hall: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Martin Donoghue: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

"Oh fuck," was all what Donoghue could gasp and he found no help on the {3-Clubs} turn and {K-Spades} river. Hall doubled for 632,000 and Donoghue was left with a mountain to climb.

"Who knows if the hand would have happened like this if we were still on the bubble," Hall said in chat with table neighbor Christopher Kyriacou while stacking the chips.
