Sunday Briefing: 'jayser1337' Takes Down $1M Powerfest Event
The $20 million guaranteed Powerfest Series kicked off at partypoker May 7 with the first 24 of 301 scheduled events.
Event 13 was a $215 buy-in tournament with a massive $1 million prize pool, which attracted 3,354 entrants and left partypoker nursing a $329,200 overlay. Taking full advantage of the extra money was “jayser1337” who took down the tournament and banked a cool $140,400 after being involved in a deal with runner-up “DonAndresPL” who scooped $125,000.
Another massive prize is now in the partypoker account of “collony87” after triumphing in the $300K Gtd Super High Roller. Collony87 outlasted 127 opponents and turned $2,600 into $78,400.
The United Kingdom's “kashmir_uzi” also became a Powerfest champion after winning the $300K Gtd High Roller for $58,299, “ManniUndMats” secured the $46,653 first-place prize in the $200K Gtd High Roller and “AllinIvey1” won another $200K Gtd event and walked away with $34,185.

Charlie “Epiphany77” Carrell returned to the virtual felt with a victory in the $1,050 Sunday Grand. Carrell defeated fellow Brit “C12SLY” heads up and won $51,489, which meant SLY had to make do with the $38,293 runner-up prize.
