Sunday Briefing: Sunday Million Ends in Five-Way Chop

Online poker’s biggest weekly tournament, the $215 PokerStars Sunday Million, ended in a five-way chop on April 16 with the prizes taken home ranging from $62,461 to $131,459.

This week’s Sunday Million champion was “Lincownz” of Brazil with victory worth $128,620.

The clock was paused when only five of the 5,912 entrants remained in the hunt for what should have been a $177,201 first-place prize and those five finalists negotiated a deal. Ukraine’s “ExtremeUA” finished in fifth place for $62,461 with Norway’s “flukert” busting one place later in a finish worth $89,190.

Third place and $72,365 when to the United Kingdom’s “Martinelly09” with another British player, “ya3thabe” being the runner-up, but thanks to the aforementioned deal, the second-place finisher bagged the largest prize, one weighing in at $131,459.

  • “crpppppp” - winner of the Big $109 for $23,797
  • “son_bat_cheo” - winner of the $700 Super-Sized Sunday for $40,039
  • “prebz” - winner of the $1,050 Sunday Grand NLHE for $56,447
  • Leo “ISILDRooN” Nordin - winner of the $1,050 Sunday Grand PLO for $31,010
  • “nofair18” - winner of the Big $215 for $27,353
  • Evan “PURPLE”K”99” Parkes - winner of the $109 Sunday Cooldown for $24,260
  • “Slebs888” - winner of the $215 Sunday Supersonic for $36,490
  • “Teddygram902” - winner of the $109 Sunday Wrap-Up for $11,034

At 888poker, Jonathan “monster_dong” Karamalikis won the $120,000 Whale and turned $600 into $26,177. British pro “jareth3542” took down the $120,000 Mega Deep for $24,443.

Austria’s “varonislv” secured the $8,901 top prize in the $40,000 Turbo Mega Deep, and “PureBusine66” of the Netherlands won the $80,000 Sunday Challenge for $12,666.

Over at partypoker, there were more than half a dozen big scores. One large cash went to “DiGGaDent” courtesy of winning the $50,000 Gtd PKO Weigh-In for $4,797 and another went to “InthisCity” who banked $25,239 for winning the $100,000 Gtd Title Fight Warm-Up.

Andras “probirs” Nemeth turn $2,600 into $47,465 after winning this weekend’s $100,000 Gtd Super High Roller.
“EXPENSlVE22” triumphed in the$150,000 Gtd High Roller for $36,865.

“Hahaha_Owned” topped a field of 1,730 in the $150,000 Gtd Main Event, a finish worth $29,081. In partypoker’s other major event with a boxing theme, the $300,000 Gtd Title Fight, Bruno “chanalise” Volkmann came out on top of the 1,366-strong field and secured a $46,237 payout.

Completing the Sunday Briefing for another week is the $5,546 won by “eilselnhoj” in the $50,000 Gtd Eliminator, the $9,986 won by “GunsAndGlory” in the $50,000 Gtd Title Fight II and the $2,572 won by “k2Schogori” in the $20,000 Gtd Eliminator.
