BLAST Sit & Go tournaments at 888poker are already hugely popular with its fast pace, giving players the opportunity to win a much larger prize than their initial buy-in. From Dec. 26, Boxing Day, BLAST players have even more incentive to play because 888poker is launching a special edition that has a $1 million prize pool to play for.

This tournament, launched in July 2016, BLAST is 888poker’s spin on jackpot Sit & Go tournaments. BLAST is played on four-handed tables and the prize pool is randomly determined before play begins, but so is the length of the tournament. Depending on the prize pool’s size, a BLAST tournament can last three, four, five or six two-minute levels. Once the timer reaches zero, everyone is set all in until a winner is determined.

Several players have been fortunate enough to play for BLAST’s top prize pool multiplier of 10,000 times, but those huge prizes are set to be blown out of the water once the BLAST Special Edition is added to the 888poker client and mobile app.

The BLAST Special Edition has a buy-in of $5.00 and its 10,000-times jackpot multiplier is being replaced by a 200,000-times multiplier, meaning it is possible to play for a prize pool of $1 million for only $5. Should the $1 million jackpot be hit, the game will last six two-minute levels and the prize money would be awarded as shown:

  • Winner: $600,000
  • Runner-up: $200,000
  • Third place: $100,000
  • Fourth place: $100,000

The chance to play for a share of $1 million comes at a time where 888poker is running its $800,000 Gift Showers promotion where prizes such as PlayStation 4, GoPro Cameras and iPhone 7s are being given away between now and Dec. 25.

Until Dec. 31, PokerNews players can grab a free $20 to give their bankrolls a boost. Open your 888poker account via PokerNews, make a deposit of $10 using the bonus code “POKERNEWS10” and 888poker will add a free $20 to your account in addition to the free $88 no deposit bonus (free £20 in the UK), making now the perfect time to join 888poker.
