Russia’s “CccpVodka” Wins $1,000,000 in Under Six Minutes On PokerStars
The world welcomed a new millionaire on April 22, as Russian online poker player "CccpVodka" turned a $5 buy-in into $1 million in a Spin & Go on PokerStars.
From the moment "CccpVodka" sat at the table with Greece's "partalios" and fellow Russian "shooLarr" to discover that they would be playing for a total prize pool of $1.2 million, it took in facts 5 minutes and 59 seconds of fast-paced action before a winner was crowned and a millionaire was made.
"Partalios" and "shooLarr" closed in second and third position, respectively, taking home a consolation prize of $100,000 each.
"CccpVodka," who is the first millionaire created by the newly-launched promotion "PokerStars Makes Millionaires", is the 23rd player to score a win of $1 million or more in the history of online poker tournaments.
To date, the record for biggest win is held by Tyson "POTTERPOKER" Marks, who netted $2,278,098 with a first-place finish in the 2010 World Championship of Online Poker Main Event.
"CccpVodka" is not the only grinder to bring a $1 million prize to Russia, either, as back in January Russia's "sss66666" was the first to win $1 million in a Spin & Go on PokerStars. That time, however, it took 13 minutes and 26 seconds for "sss66666" to beat the other two players at the table and secure his remarkable win.
