‘Antoshka’ Wins PokerStars Super Tuesday

This week’s edition of the PokerStars Super Tuesday drew 328 players to the online poker tables, with first place set at $68,250, and when the final cards were dealt, Anton “Antoshka” Smolanskiey walked away with the win. Smolanskiey topped David “dpeters17” Peters for the title. Among the best showings short of the final were Mark “RandALLin” Flowers in 11th place ($4,900), Laurence ”rivermanl” Houghton in 13th ($4,200), Bjorn-Erik “Hikkespett” Glenne in 14th ($4,200), JBlaze20 in 15th ($4,200), Scott “stpauli111” Hall in 16th ($3,500), mendieta19 in 17th ($3,500) and Mike “Sowerss” Sowers in 21st ($2,450). The chip counts at the start of the final table were as follows:

Uninc157 busted first from the final at the 1,250/2,500/250 level. The action started with Virgil369, the short stack, going all in for his last 6,986 with A2. Uninc157 re-raised all in for 31,094 and Anton “Antoshka” Smolanskiey also was in the pot with AK. The board came 954310 as Uninc157’s hand, which was mucked, was beaten by both opponents. For the ninth-place finish Uninc157 pocketed $6,125. Out next was pabloeltahur after shoving for 17,204 with A9. In the small blind, dmwizard called with JJ and won the pot when the board fell 54349. Pabloeltahur took $8,750 for eighth. Virgil369 departed in seventh after getting it in with 88 against David “malicous222” Randall’s 77. A third seven hit the flop and Virgil369 failed to catch up, out in seventh for $12,250.

Mathisje hit the rail at 2,000/4,000/400. From the cutoff, mathisje shoved for 39,718 and dmwizard called from the small blind. David “malicous222” Randall re-raised all in from the big blind and successfully isolated the pot. Randall’s 99 trailed mathisje’s 1010, but the board ran out 38K9Q and mathisje was out in sixth place for $15,750. David “malicous222” Randall was eliminated by Anton “Antoshka” Smolanskiey. Randall opened to 9,415 under the gun and Smolanskiey popped it to 25,830 in the small blind. Randall went all in for 106,788 and Smolanskiey called with AQ, ahead of Randall’s AJ. The board came K95A7 and Randall off in fifth place with $20,125.

TheFan83 bid adieu at 3,000/6,000/600. Down to 47,241, TheFan83 got it in with A6, but was up against David “dpeters17” Peters’ 77. No ace found the table as TheFan83 took fourth place for $29,400. Dmwizard bowed out in third place. From the small blind, dmwizard raised to 18,000 and David Peters went all in from the big blind. Dmwizard called all in with A9 and was squaring off against Peters’ KJ. The board ran out Q87{ Js}2 and dmwizard collected $38,500 for third. The heads-up duel didn’t last long as Peters got it on the short stack with AK and it was off to the races against Smolanskiey’s QQ. The A107 put Peters in the lead. The A fell on the turn, and Smolanskiey was looking for one of the last two queens to land on the river. Indeed, the Q peeled off to give Smolanskiey the best hand and eliminate David “dpeters17” Peters in second place for $51,625. Anton Smolanskiey’s win in the PokerStars Super Tuesday was worth $68,250.
