Caio Pimenta limped into the pot from middle position, and Daniel Negreanu made the raise from the cutoff seat. When it folded back to Pimenta, he snuck in a reraise, and Negreanu flatted to see the flop.
It came , and Pimenta continued out with what looked like 63,000. Negreanu announced that he was all in with his monster stack, and Pimenta instantly called off his last 208,000 to put himself at risk. He was ahead, but it was a good sweat.
Showdown
Pimenta:
Negreanu:
Yikes. Pimenta's overpair had him poised for a double, but he needed to fade the hearts and jacks left in the deck to avoid elimination. The turn came the , a safe card for the at-risk player, and Negreanu repeated his situation aloud: "Royal draw."
That draw never came in as the river was the wrong shade and the wrong shape. Negreanu was accepting of the result as it was an unavoidable spot once the flop came. Pimenta was more than accepting, throwing his hands up in celebration and then running over to leap into the arms of a friend on the rail. Quite literally. It was a sight to behold, but Pimenta returned quickly to stack up the chip-leading pot.
He's got about 530,000 now, while Negreanu takes a tumble back to 375,000. It must be comforting to know you can lose a 100bb pot and still have nearly twice the chip average, and we're sitting here wondering what might have been if Kid Poker had found an out on that river.

Wow. Wow! WOW! Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu just eliminated Patrick Mahoney in a massive, massive hand.
The action started with Caio Cesar Pimenta raising from early position to 10,500. Negreanu made the call from the cutoff seat and then action folded to Mahoney in the big blind. He put in a three-bet to 36,500. Pimenta got out of the way before Negreanu made the call.
The flop produced the and Mahoney led with a bet of 38,000. Negreanu didn't go anywhere and stayed in with a call to see fourth street. On the turn, the landed on the board and Mahoney checked. Negreanu opted to check behind and give a free river card.
On the river, the fell. Mahoney took a few seconds and then checked. Negreanu began counting out chips and arranged them next to his stack. He then slid out a bet of 77,000. After a few moments, Mahoney check-raised all in, verbally announcing his action. Negreanu's headphones came flying off of his head as he exclaimed, "Really?!?!"
A short few moments later, he pointed at Mahoney's stack while looking towards the dealer and said, "Count it."
The dealer began breaking down Mahoney's chip stack. He counted it out and added things up to 197,500. Negreanu confirmed the count and then tanked for a little prior to saying, "Doesn't seem possible."
After a couple minutes in the tank, Negreanu mentioned, "I don't have a clue yet... and that's not good."
Another couple minutes passed and Negreanu began thinking out loud as he so often does at the table when he's in tank situations. "You could have like ace-king with the ace of clubs," he said. "That, or the nuts."
Another few moments went by before he questioned, "Would you do that with aces? That might be, you might have aces."
Some more time passed and then Negreanu mentioned that he felt Mahoney might be from Canada. He corrected himself and said maybe the East Coast of the United States. This is when Mahoney broke his silence and responded to tell Negreanu he wasn't from either. Negreanu took some more time and then seemed to have an epiphany of sorts.
"Oh my god!" he said. "I just remember if I lose, I can still do this tonight!" and acted out some dance moves. "If I lose, I can just go to Carnival," he went on. Mahoney gave a smirk, while the rest of the table laughed at Negreanu's comment. Then Negreanu said, "I have to call," and made the call.
"You win," was all Mahoney could say. After that, Negreanu tabled the for two pair, sixes and fives. Mahoney showed the for ace high and Negreanu won the pot.
Negreanu had Mahoney covered and raked in the massive amount of chips. When it was all said and done, Negreanu's stack sat right around 625,000 in chips. That's a ridiculous amount and has Negreanu over three times the average stack.

We wish we'd seen the betting action that led to Victor Talamini's shove, but we'll tell you what we do know.
The flop was already out on the table when we walked up, and there was only about 25,000 in the pot. Somehow, Talamini had gotten himself all in for 97,500 there holding just . That was especially troublesome when his opponent called him down with the crushing , and Talamini needed two running cards to stay alive.
No problem. The turn was the , the river was the , and it's an easy game sometimes. Talamini gets there with trips, doubling up to about 220,000 and leaving his opponent nearly felted with just about 10bb left.
The two men seem to have some good cheer between them, however, as they shook hands and embraced and shared a few friendly words after the hand.
With the board reading , Elio Fox bet 16,000 and Carlos Ibarra raised all in. Fox quickly called off his entire 76,000-chip stack with the . Ibarra held the for two pair and the best hand at the time. The river completed the board with the and Fox was left second best, sending him to the rail and moving Ibarra up to 400,000 in chips.

Just moments after getting knocked all the way down to 7,000 in chips, Felipe Ramos moved all in from the under-the-gun-plus-one position for 6,500. Action moved to Vincenzo Giannelli and he reraised all in for around 380,000. That knocked everyone else out of the way including the player in the big blind who folded the .
It was interesting that the big blind folded those particular cards because Giannelli tabled the and Ramos the . Knowing one jack was already gone, Ramos was even more on the ropes against Giannelli and facing a bubble elimination at the 2012 PokerStars.net LAPT Grand Final.
The flop came down and Ramos didn't find anything he needed. The turn brought the and Ramos was left needing the case jack on the river.
The wasn't what Ramos was looking for as Giannelli made aces full to win the hand. Ramos exited the tournament in 49th place — the official bubble — with a shrug and an "Oh well."
