Day 1 of the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris €50k Super High Roller has concluded for the day here at the Palais de Congres. Juan Pardo leads the way in chips with 919,000 after eight hour-long levels. "Malaka$tyle" finished fifth in the €10,300 EPT High Roller at the last EPT stop in Prague, cashing for €129,900.
Rounding out the top three is recent EPT Paris €10,200 Mystery Bounty winner Duco ten Haven. He bagged a stack worth 897,000 putting him second in chips. As well as winning the 2024 EPT Paris €10,200 Mystery Bounty he also scooped the biggest bounty worth €50,000. Niklas Astedt currently sits third in chips with 810,000. Astedt will be looking to build on his second place finish in the second 2024 EPT Paris €25,000 NL Hold'em which concluded this evening.

Notable names to appear include Artur Martirosian, who fired two bullets in this event. He was the first player to bust in this tournament before firing a second bullet which was also unsuccessful. Adrian Mateos fresh off his second place finish to Stephen Chidwick in the first EPT Paris €25,000 NL Hold'em also fired two unsuccessful bullets in today's event. Bert Stevens, better known as "Girafganger7" made a rare live appearance here in Paris and fired one bullet.
Coming back for Day 2 tomorrow is Sirzat Hissou who has been well in the mix today. The German ran deep in the €10,200 Mystery Bounty here in Paris, finishing fourth for €44,800. He currently sits in fourth place with 771,000. Highest on England's tournament earnings list, Stephen Chidwick will also be returning on Day 2. Having already won the first €25,000 NL Hold'em, he will be looking to claim a second title in quick succession in this event.
Late registration stays open overnight, closing at the start of Day 2. Play will resume tomorrow with the players battling to win a slice of €2,446,080 at 12:30 p.m. with blinds at 2,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante. There are 12 minutes and 45 seconds left on the clock for this level.

Action was picked up on the flop of 2♣K♥4♠ where Sam Greenwood in the big blind was facing a 20,000 bet from Pedro Marques.
Greenwood called the bet from Marques who was on the button. The K♦ turn brought another check from Greenwood and another barrel from Marques, this time for 30,000. Greenwood took a moment before calling.
The river K♦ was knuckled by Greenwood before Marques used a time bank. He then fired a bet of 150,000 putting him all in. Greenwood used two time banks before folding his hand.

Action folded to Duco ten Haven in the cutoff who opened to 11,000. Juan Pardo reraised to 40,000 in the button. Sirzat Hissou then four-bet in the small blind to 82,000. Chris Brewer folded in the big blind. Ten Haven then five-bet to 160,000. Pardo folded and Hissou made the call.
Hissou checked the J♣Q♥2♦ flop to Ten Haven, who bet 62,000. Hissou then check-raised to 200,000. Ten Haven quickly folded.
Brewer said "I had ace-king, no idea what you guys have got," as Ten Haven and Hissou slid their cards to the dealer.

The flop came 5♠6♣9♦. Danchev led out for 30,000 and Adamszki moved all in for around 130,000. Danchev called and Adamszki showed A♠8♠ for a straight draw. Danchev flipped Q♣Q♥ for pocket queens.
The turn was the 2♠ and river came the 6♦. Danchev held to win the pot and Adamszki was eliminated from the tournament.
