Anson Tsang Aiming for Third Bracelet in Same WSOP Europe Event on Final Day of €2,000 Pot Limit Omaha

Anson Tsang
Anson Tsang

Back in 2018, Anson Tsang captured his first-ever bracelet at the World Series of Poker Europe. He took down the €2,200 Pot-Limit Omaha event at King's Resort Rozvadov, only to come back four years later and win his third overall bracelet by conquering the same event at the same venue. Today, he will have the unique opportunity for a hat trick as he has once again made it to the second and final day of the fourth bracelet event of the 2024 WSOP Europe, the €2,000 Pot Limit Omaha.

Tsang's stack of 254,500, good for 51 big blinds at the start of play, may be above the average, but it dwarfs in comparison to chipleader Hokyiu Lee's 609,500. Lee is the main character in another major storyline of this tournament, as he is the defending champion, having won this event in 2023. Leading the 50 returning players, out of a total field of 229, he will be looking for his second bracelet, hoping to get even with Tsang in victories in this event.

Joining Tsang and Lee in extraordinary feats in this event is Daniel Smuskovics. The German finished in fourth place last year, sharing the final table with Lee, but is looking to place higher this time around as he managed to bag up 565,000 chips, good for second place on the leaderboard. His fellow countryman Dennis Weiss will also start with more than 100 big blinds, having 535,000 in his bag, while Italy's Marco Di Persio (477,500) and Bulgaria's Simeon Tsonev (314,500) were among the other players in the top ten after Day 1.
