Fadeev Finds Aces

Level 36 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Dmitrij Fadeev looked down at AA under the gun and raised to 1,000,000. Rostyslav Sabishchenko called in the cutoff with 99, as did Georg Strebel in the big blind with K8.

The flop fell 65K. Strebel checked to Fadeev, who bet 700,000. Both Sabishchenko and Strebel called to the 3 turn.

After a second check from Strebel, Fadeev sized up to 3,000,000. Both his opponents quickly got rid of their hands, and the pot was handed to Fadeev.

Antonio Menga Eliminated in 7th Place (€25,700)

Level 36 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Antonio Menga
Antonio Menga

Antonio Menga, sitting on the button, decided to go all in for 2,700,000 with his hand of A8. In the big blind, Daniel Trunk, the dominant stack at the table, requested a count before making the call with K9.

The flop revealed J910, giving both players the potential for a straight, but Trunk held the edge with a pair of nines.

Things took a dramatic turn when Menga hit the A on the turn, solidifying his lead and leaving Trunk with limited outs. However, the excitement wasn’t over just yet. The river brought the Q, completing Trunk's straight and sending Menga to the rail as he exited the tournament.

No Luck Gavrila

Level 36 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Viorel Gavrila kicked off the action from the cutoff, raising to 2,000,000 with A3. In the small blind, Antonio Menga, holding KQ, decided to go all in for his remaining 1,450,000.

When the flop revealed A9Q, both players secured a pair, but Gavrila maintained the lead with his ace.

However, the turn brought a game-changing Q, giving Menga trips with queens and significantly increasing his chances to win this pot.

The river card, 4, didn’t alter the situation, and despite his strong hand, Gavrila found himself losing a portion of his stack, enabling Menga to successfully double up.

Antonio Menga was automatically all-in in the big blind. Georg Strebel then limped in from middle position before Alberto Speranzoni shoved for 2,800,000 in the cutoff.

Viorel Gavrila rejammed on the button with the covering stack, forcing out Strebel and creating a three-way all-in.

Alberto Speranzoni: 77 All in
Viorel Gavrila: AQ

The 695 flop saw Speranzoni remain ahead, but the J turn made Menga top pair to take a big lead.

The 9 river paired the board, quadrupling up Menga and seeing the big side pot being shipped to Speranzoni.

Fadeev's Lucky River

Level 35 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Przemyslaw Szymanski opened the action with AJ under the gun, raising to 600,000. Dmitrij Fadeev, holding AK in the cutoff, decided to call. Then Viorel Gavrila, sitting in the small blind with pocket jacks JJ, went all in, putting the pressure back on Szymanski. He chose to fold, but Fadeev quickly snapped and called the all-in.

The flop came down 732, leaving Fadeev in a precarious position as it didn’t improve his hand.

The turn brought the 8, which wasn’t the help he was looking for.

However, the A on the river gave him the crucial better pair he needed, allowing Fadeev to double up and stay in the game.

Gavrila Bluffs Dobos

Level 35 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Jozsef Dobos raised his KQ to 600,000 in the hijack and was called by Viorel Gavrila in the big blind, who defended 109. The 3A10 flop saw Dobos continue for 450,000, which Gavrila check-called.

The K turn slowed down the action as both players checked. The Q river put four to a straight on the board, prompting Gavrila to make a bet of 1,850,000.

Dobos mulled it over before deciding to muck his two pair and forfeit the pot to Gavrila, who successfully pulled off the bluff.
