Tran Goes One for Two

Level 27 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Duc Tuan Tran raised to 100,000 from under the gun and Theodoor Woolschot defended the big blind. Both players then checked the 106Q flop before Woolschot made a 12.500 bet on the 3 turn.

Tran called and the K river completed the board. Woolschot reverted to a check, and this time it was Tran who bet out, for 225,000. Woolschot let his hand go and Tran showed K10 for two pair, complimenting the fold of his opponent.

The next hand, Traian Standu raised to 100,000 from the button and Duc Tuan Tran defended the big blind. Standu then continued for 90,000 on the A34 flop and Tran check-called.

Tran then also check-called Stanciu's 255,000 bet on the 9 turn before eventually check-folding when Stanciu completed his triple barrel by betting 530,000 on the J river.

Michael Gehrmann had jammed once to preserve his short stack and then claimed the blinds and big blind ante with an open raise.

Soon after, Gehrmann raised to 85,000 in the hijack and Anthony Mahaut called on the button. The 1082 flop brought with it a bet of Gehrmann for 110,000, which Mahaut called.

Gehrmann then jammed the 6 turn and Mahaut went into the tank, carefully studying his opponent. No words were spoken before Mahaut then called.

Michael Gehrmann: A4
Anthony Mahaut: A8

Gehrmann needed a spade to double but missed the 5 river, bowing out in 12th place for €2,800.

Emil Bise
Emil Bise

Roland Israelashvili raised and Emil Bise defended the big blind to a flop of 975 which he checked. The initial raiser asked for Bise's stack size and then splashed in his five T-100,000 chips, Bise folded.

One hand later, Bise limped the small blind and Theodoor Woolschot checked from the big blind. Bise checked the J54 flop with around 400,000 behind and called a bet of 75,000 by Woolschot.

After the 9 turn, Bise checked again and Woolschot declared "I am all-in".

Bise briefly checked his stack and then pushed it forward.

Emil Bise: K4
Theodoor Woolschot: J8

The Swiss had bottom pair with a flush draw while Woolschot was ahead with the top pair. A blank Q river followed and denied Bise the chance at winning a third WSOPE bracelet.
