Julien Sitbon
Julien Sitbon

No-Limit Hold'em

Claudio Di Giacomo raised it up to 125,000 in the hijack and Julien Sitbon shoved all in for 790,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Di Giacomo who asked for a count before making the call.

Julien Sitbon: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Claudio Di Giacomo: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The flop came {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Di Giacomo stayed in front with his pair of fives. The {8-Spades} on the turn and the {7-Hearts} on the river were no help to Sitbon who exited in ninth place.

Plum Doubles with Aces

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Moncef Karoui raised to 175,000 from under the gun and Mikkel Plum shoved all in for 635,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Karoui quickly called to put Plum at risk.

Mikkel Plum: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Moncef Karoui: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Plum held a big advantage as he also had Karoui's suit covered. The board ran out {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Plum held on for a double up with hardly any sweat at all.

Vranken Doubles Through Di Giacomo

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Claudio Di Giacomo opened to 180,000 in early position and Antoine Vranken re-raised to 620,000 in the small blind, leaving himself with just 250,000 behind. Di Giacomo thought for a couple of minutes before making the call.

The flop came {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Vranken shoved all in for his last 250,000. Di Giacomo called and turned over {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades} but was in tough against the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts} of Vranken.

The {2-Hearts} on the turn gave Vranken a flush and Di Giacomo was left drawing dead to the {q-Clubs} on the river.

Mustafov Doubles to Stay Alive Before Break

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Fahredin Mustafov raised to 280,000 in middle position and Moncef Karoui re-raised from the big blind. Mustafov called off his stack of 350,000 and the cards were tabled.

Fahredin Mustafov: {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Moncef Karoui: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The flop came {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Mustafov picked up two pair to take the lead. The {6-Hearts} on the turn gave Karoui a flush draw but the {6-Clubs} on the river ensured Mustafov of a double up.

The players are now heading on their first 15-minute break of the day.

Plum Gets a Four-Bet Through

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Mikkel Plum opened to 350,000 from under the gun and Stanislav Koleno three-bet to 1,200,000 in the cutoff. The action was back on Plum who shoved all in for 2,440,000.

Koleno asked for a count and then went into the tank for a couple of minutes. He agonized for most of that time and finally showed {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} as he slid his cards to the muck. Plum conveniently showed his {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} as he dragged in the pot.

No-Limit Hold'em

In one hand, Carter Newhof shoved all in for 835,000 in the cutoff with {a-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Mikkel Plum called in the big blind with {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. An ace-high board meant Newhof would double up through Plum.

A couple of hands later, Moncef Karoui opened to 250,000 in early position and Plum shoved all in on the button. Karoui quickly called off his stack of 1,795,000 and held the preflop lead.

Karoui held {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} while Plum was in tough with {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. The board ran out {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Karoui scored a huge double up into the chip lead.
