A Champion Will be Crowned in Event #4: €2,000 Pot-Limit Omaha

Richard Toth is among the bigger stacks for Day 2
Richard Toth is among the bigger stacks for Day 2

The third gold bracelet of the 2021 World Series of Poker Europe will be awarded today as Event #4: €2,000 Pot-Limit Omaha plays down to a winner.

Only 46 players out of 241 entries remain in contention for the €423,557 prize pool and the money bubble will be looming when the action resumes at 2pm local time in Europe's biggest poker arena at the King's Resort in Rozvadov.

Leading the field into the final day is the UK's Ian Bradley with 554,000 in chips and he is the only contender with more than 100 big blinds at his disposal for the restart. Ermanno Di Nicola (440,000) and Stanislav Parkhomenko (415,000) follow on the overnight podium while other notables in the top 10 include Richard Toth and Leonid Yanovski.

Defending champion Tomas Ribeiro (134,000) and the runner-up Omar Eljach (359,000) are both in the mix as well, along with the 2012 WSOP $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship winner Jan-Peter Jachtmann (203,000). Other notables that will return for the final day include Vivian Saliba, Krasimir Yankov, Andriy Lyubovetskiy, Abdelhakim Zoufri, Mick Heder, and Jonas Kronwitter.

The action will recommence with blinds of 3,000/5,000 and a big blind ante of 5,000. All levels will last 40 minutes each and the final table is also scheduled to be streamed as of 8pm local time on the main feature table at the King's Resort. First up, however, all hopefuls will hope to reach the money stages as only the top 37 finishers earn at least €3,016 for their efforts.

As usual, the PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor from start to finish to provide all the PLO action from the latest gold bracelet event of the 2021 WSOPE.

Di Nicola Takes It on the Turn

Level 13 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

With the money bubble looming, the action early on was rather timid. One of the three-way pots saw Krasimir Yankov check the {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop and Ermanno Di Nicola bet 18,000. Tomasz Gluszko check-folded out of the big blind and Yankov called.

Pn the {q-Clubs} turn, Yankov checked once more and Di Nicola bet 22,000 to claim the pot.

Big Pot for Eljach

Level 13 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

On the tail end of a bigger pot between Andriy Lyubovetskiy in the big blind and Omar Eljach on the button, the former bet the pot on the {j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} river and Eljach called. Lyubovetskiy tabled the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the top pair and a busted open-ender, which Eljach had beat with the {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for trips fives.

Kronwitter Eliminated by Yanovski

Level 13 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Jonas Kronwitter
Jonas Kronwitter

Jonas Kronwitter defended the big blind and then got it in after the {q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} flop to get called by Leonid Yanovski for the following showdown to emerge.

Jonas Kronwitter: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Leonid Yanovski: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}

The {3-Hearts} turn gave both players queens and treys but the {4-Hearts} river improved Yanovski to a wheel.

Jachtmann Busts Shalom

Level 13 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

The cards of Roee Shalom were already in the muck as the pot was shipped over to Jan-Peter Jachtmann. On a board of {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, the {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for the top set was good enough for Jachtmann to win the pot.

"Ace ace queen five with two clubs," Richard Toth mentioned with regards to the hand of Shalom, who missed out on his superior set, gutshot wheel draw and flush draw.

Jordan and Klostermeier Both Bust

Level 13 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

The board read {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades}{5-Spades} with around 140,000 in the middle.

Markus Jordan had checked from the middle position and Jan Ryduchowski bet 115,000 from the hijack for Jordan to think about it for a bit before making the call.

The river completed the board with the {10-Diamonds} and both players quickly checked. Jordan took some time and was prompted to show his cards. He shook his head and then tabled the {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Spades} for the pair of aces for Ryduchowski to show the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} for top two pair and the pot to leave Jordan with around 96,000.

On the next hand, the flop read {5-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs} when all the chips went in for Jordan and he was up against Leszek Badurowicz with the bigger stack.

Markus Jordan: {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Leszek Badurowicz: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

The rest of the board was completed with the {k-Spades} on the turn and the {q-Spades} on the river to not help Jordan much as Badurowicz held with the higher two pair.

A few hands later, Maximilian Klostermeier was also eliminated from this table.

Medarov Chips Up

Level 13 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Table big stack Ermanno Di Nicola bet the {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop to get called by Vasil Medarov and fired another 65,000 on the {2-Spades} turn, which Medarov called once more. The {9-Clubs} river was checked and Di Nicola briefly announced his hand without exposing any card but Medarov had the winning combo with {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades} for a pair of kings.
