Day 1a of Event #3: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed Kicks Off at 3PM
The first Non-Hold'em Event of the 2018 World Series of Poker kicks off today with Day 1a of Event #3: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed. The third tournament of the festival at King's Casino in Rozvadov comes with a guaranteed prize pool of €100,000 and two starting days, which will certainly attract familiar faces from near and far to Europe's biggest poker arena.
Defending champion of this very event is Germany's Andreas Klatt, who capped off a very successful year at the poker tables in 2017 by claiming his first gold bracelet in a field of 523 entries. Klatt defeated fellow countryman Nico Ehlers in heads-up to claim a payday of €56,400. Other finalists included such notables as Georgios Zisimopoulos, Theodoros Aidonopolos and Michal Maryska.
The event will be played in an eight-handed format and each Day 1 is scheduled to play a total of 18 levels of 30 minutes. Depending on the number of entries, this may, however, be adjusted. The registration and unlimited re-entry period remain open until the end of level 10 at approximately 9.20 p.m. local time and all participants receive 20,000 in chips when they sit down.
