Merone Leaves Koleno Short

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

In a battle button versus small blind, a pot of 11,000 emerged until the river of a board {K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Antonio Merone in the small blind led for 6,500 and Stanislav Koleno on the button glanced over from behind the dealer on the other side of the table, then asked Merone how much he had behind.

Merone had another 5,000 in chips and Koleno took a minute before calling for half of his remaining stack. Merone showed {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} for a pair of kings and that was good enough to rake in the pot.
