Hellmuth with a Three-Bet

Stephane Albertini opened for 115,000 on the button and received a call from Sergii Baranov in the small blind. Phil Hellmuth then came in with a three-bet to 400,000 from the big blind, Albertini folded, and Baranov made the call, which brought about a flop of {3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{K-Clubs}.

Baranov checked and Hellmuth kept the pressure on with a bet of 400,000. Baranov thought about it for about five seconds before flicking his cards to the muck.

River Bet Scores For Albertini

Stephane Albertini had the button. He raised to 115,000 and both Sergii Baranov and Phil Hellmuth called from the blinds.

The trio checked the flop of {2-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and the {9-Diamonds} turned. Baranov checked and Hellmuth fired 300,000. Albertini called and Baranov followed suit. The dealer put on the {6-Spades} on the river and there were two checks to Albertini. He moved 475,000 into the middle and both of his opponents released their hands quicker than lightning, allowing Albertini to pick up the pot.

Big Slick for Albertini

Stephane Albertini opened for 110,000 from the button and Sergii Baranov called from the small blind. The latter proceeded to check-call a bet of 140,000 on the {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} flop before both players checked the {10-Hearts} turn and {8-Hearts} river. Albertini rolled over {A-}{K-} and it was good as Baranov sent his hand to the muck.

Hellmuth Applying Pressure

Phil Hellmuth limped on the button. Stephane Albertini raised to 155,000 and Sergii Baranov got out of the way. Hellmuth called and the flop came {4-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Both players checked to the {3-Diamonds} turn.

Albertini fired 165,000 and Hellmuth called. The {10-Diamonds} rivered and Albertini moved 280,000 into the middle. Hellmuth snap raised to 800,000, sending Albertini into the tank for about two minutes before finally folding.

Hellmuth vs. Baranov Yet Again

Phil Hellmuth can't believe Sergii's hand
Phil Hellmuth can't believe Sergii's hand

Sergii Baranov raised to 110,000 from the button and was met with a three-bet to 300,000 from Phil Hellmuth in the small blind. Baranov made the call and the bet 200,000 when Hellmuth checked the {5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} flop. The "Poker Brat" made the call and then both players checked the {3-Spades} turn.

When the {A-Spades} peeled off on the river, Hellmuth led out for 250,000 only to have Baranov raise to 500,000. Hellmuth made the call with {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, but threw his hands up in the air when Baranov rolled over {A-Clubs}{6-Spades}.

Joseph Cheong Eliminated in 4th Place (€292,320)

Joseph Cheong - 4th Place
Joseph Cheong - 4th Place

Joseph Cheong opened to 115,000 from the button. Stephane Albertini called from the small blind and Sergii Baranov called from the big.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and Albertini checked. Baranov led out for 225,000 only to have Cheong raise all in. Albertini folded and Baranov casually announced a call.

Cheong: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Baranov: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

Cheong would need to fade a king or a diamond to stay alive in the tournament. Unfortunately that simply was not in the cards, as the {2-Diamonds} rolled off on the turn to give Baranov his flush. The {10-Spades} completed the board and Cheong was eliminated in fourth place, taking home €292,320 for his efforts.

Hellmuth Picks Off Huge Bluff

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Stephane Albertini opened to 100,000 from the button. Sergii Baranov three-bet to 200,000 from the small blind and Phil Hellmuth flat called from the big blind. Albertini called and the trio saw a flop.

The dealer produced a flop of {9-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Baranov led for 275,000. Hellmuth called and Albertini folded.

The {Q-Diamonds} turned and Baranov bet 500,000. Hellmuth, once again, almost beat Baranov into the pot with a call.

The {10-Hearts} finished the board and Baranov pushed 1,000,000 into the middle. Hellmuth then went into the tank.

"You got lucky again?" Hellmuth said. "Either that or you're trying to bluff off all your money again. This is so sick. Jacks any good? Sergii? Can you beat jacks?"

Eventually Hellmuth called and showed {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. Baranov mucked his hand and Hellmuth jumped out of his chair, clapped, and yelled "Yes!".

Baranov Calls Hellmuth with King High

Sergii Baranov raised to 120,000 from the small blind and Phil Hellmuth defended from the big. The {2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop saw Baranov bet 120,000 only to have Hellmuth raise to 240,000. Baranov made the call and then both players checked the {4-Clubs} turn. The {3-Clubs} river saw Baranov check, which opened the door for Hellmuth to bet 220,000. Baranov thought long and hard before making the call with {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, and he was glad he did as it was good against Hellmuth's {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.
