Torstein Iversen Eliminated; 23 Players Remaining

Erik Albinsson
Erik Albinsson
Stud:

Torstein Iversen has just been eliminated from the tournament by Erik Albinsson. All of the money found its way into the middle on fourth street:

Iversen: {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs}
Albinsson: {10-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}

A showdown ensued and the rest of the hand played out like so:

Iversen: [{Q-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}] {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {4-Hearts} (Muck)
Albinsson: [{K-Clubs} {9-Clubs}] {10-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {A-Clubs} [{6-Diamonds}]

Albinsson won the pot with an ace-high flush and improved to ~58,000 in chips for the day.

Vallo Dips

Not happy, but now has coffee
Not happy, but now has coffee
Martin Vallo has lost half his stack in a three-way razz hand with Ivo Donev and Daniel Negreanu, Donev coming out on top to prompt a quick muck from still-chipped-up Negreanu and a sour face from the now-short Vallo. Down to just 15,800, he retires to the comfort of his espresso for the moment.

Round 2

Razz:

Gus Hansen and Isaac Haxton have just had another early position battle but this time in razz.

Hansen ended with {4-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {7-Spades} {A-Spades} and Haxton with {5-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}. Hansen had been the aggressor on the last street but checked his option here and then called Haxton's 3,000 bet.

Haxton showed his hidden {2-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {3-Hearts} and it was good enough to beat the Dane once more as he showed his hidden {A-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}.

Hansen back down again with 18,000, Haxton up to 98,000.

Pescatori Wins Monster Omaha Hand Before Break

The Italian Pirate
The Italian Pirate
Max Pescatori, aka 'The Italian Pirate,' took a monster pot away from Sherkhan Farnood just before the break to move up to 85,000 in chips.

On a board showing {6-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {A-Spades}, Farnood and Pescatori traded raises until the action was capped. The river delivered the {10-Spades} and Farnood passed the first action to Pescatori who fired one last bet; Farnood made the call.

At the showdown, Pescatori turned over not one, but TWO aces, good for quads and Farnood just nodded his head, mucking his cards in defeat. Sherkhan was left with 26,500 after the hand.

Yuval Do What I Say

Fold!
Fold!
Omaha 8:

Yuval Bronshtein has taken down a decent pot with the minimum of effort. Four-way to the flop, Bronshtein was in the big blind with Mark Gregorich in the small, Sherkhan Farnood in mid position and Phil Ivey on the button. All four checked the {9-Spades} {4-Spades} {7-Clubs} flop before them.

Come the {J-Diamonds} turn, Bronshtein bet out, and both Ivey and Gregorich called him. Neither of them liked the look of the {7-Diamonds} on the river though -- Bronshtein bet out again, and they both folded.
