Judah increases his stack 200%

Mel Judah has tripled up (He was very short stacked).

I caught the Omaha action on the turn in a hand with Joe Beevers and Neal Friets. It looked likes this:

{2-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Judah bet and everyone called

{4-Diamonds}

At this point I heard Judah very quietly say a swear word under his breath.

He puts his last few chips in, Friets calls and Beevers mucks.

Judah worries over a paired board were for naught as he turned over

{A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

For the nut flush and Friets mucks his hand.

Today's Tough Tables

Care to join any of these scary lineups?

Table 11: Annie Duke, John Juanda, Gary "Choirboy" Jones

Table 12: Jeff Madsen, Justin "ZeeJustin" Bonomo, Erik Seidel, Chris Ferguson (15 WSOP bracelets on this table!)

Table 13: Barbara Lewis, Scott Fischman, Nicolaus Jedlicka, Brandon Adams

Table 14: Mark Vos, Marc Goodwin, Pascal Perrault, Kirk Morrison, Eli Elezra

Table 15: Max Pescatori, Gus Hansen, Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke

Table 16: Allen Cunningham, Jennifer Harman, Lee Watkinson, Jeff Lisandro, Andreas Hoivold (10 WSOP bracelets among this lot!)

Fricke is looking Slick

Hold'em Hand

Jimmy Fricke has just won a 10,000 pot from Matthew Hankins. He raises Under the gun and Hankins in the Big Blind reraises, Fricke calls with

{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

Hankins bets, Fricke calls.

{J-Hearts}

Hankins bets, Fricke reraises, Hankins calls

{8-Diamonds}

Hankins bets, Fricke reraises. Hankins goes into the tank for a very long time and reluctantly folds, clearly mucking a decent flush.

Fricke shows {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} for a full house and Hankins must be feeling a little better for the laydown.

Out on the Floor

The remaining seven tables have been moved out of the poker room and onto the casino floor. Several of the players complained about the sweltering temperatures inside the poker room (due to lack of ventilation and hot lights) and the staff is utilizing the space on the casino floor to house the remaining tables.

Interesting Little Wager

As posted on his blog, apparantley Brian Townsend and Barry Greenstein have a potentially lucrative side bet for the next two events. Townsend has reported he has a 100% cross book with Greenstein on the £5k PLO and the £10k main event. Should either man make the final table it could be very lucrative.

Townsend is not a noted tournament player but obviously his cash skills speak for themselves. Greenstein is proven in both disciplines but of course he didn't turn up yesterday so it is a nicely poised challenge.
