Picking up the action on the flop of {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Najeem Ajez was facing a bet of 575 from the player on his right. Ajez decided to put in a raise in position, making it 1,800. His opponent called.

Both players checked on the {10-Diamonds} turn but on the {Q-Diamonds} river, Ajez's opponent put out a bet of 2,000. Ajez didn't waste long before folding.

His opponent flashed him the {K-Diamonds} before pitching his hand into the muck. Ajez was left with roughly 23,000 after the hand.

Suchanek Flops It Against Mortensen

Morten Mortensen opened with a raise to 300 under the gun and Jan Suchanek called in the big blind.

The flop was {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Suchanek checked. Mortensen put out a bet of 275 and Suchanek then check-raised, making it 625. Mortensen called.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and Suchanek continued with a bet of 1,100. Mortensen called once more.

On the {10-Diamonds} river, Suchanek finally slowed down with a check. Mortensen checked behind. Suchanek turned up his {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and with a straight, he was able to take down the pot.

Suchanek is off to a hot start with nearly twice the starting stack already.

The flop came down {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and the player in the cutoff checked over to Benson. Benson quickly put out a bet of 650 and his opponent didn't waste too long to fold.

With that, Benson was able to take down the pot and chip up a bit here in the early levels.

After 170 entrants took part in Day 1A of the Main Event yesterday, today is the second chance for players to grab their own personal slice of the $2.1 million guarantee on offer. Players who entered yesterday and didn’t bag chips are still able to enter today, but if they are forced to re-enter again, have two more chances next Thursday and Friday on the remaining two opening flights.

Yesterday it was Michael Confos who managed to soar to the top of the chip counts with 366,000, edging out Ricky Kroesen (339,500) and Luke Martinelli (334,000) who rounded out the top three spots. 31 players managed to bag with notables including; Jordan Westmorland, Craig Blight, Julius Colman, Jonathan Karamalikis, Brendon Rubie and Jarred Graham.

Today players will have fourteen 45-minute levels to try and match Confos’ stack ahead of Day 2, with 10-minute breaks after every three levels, and a 30-minute dinner break coming at the conclusion of level nine.
