Blumstein Bets Big

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Alexandre Reard opened to 350,000 in middle position, Scott Blumstein called in the small blind, and Michael Sklenicka called in the big.

Action checked to the raiser on the {7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{a-Clubs} flop, and Reard bet 450,000. Both opponents called. All three checked through the {j-Diamonds} turn, and the {a-Hearts} hit the river. Blumstein bet 2.5 million and took it down, although Sklenicka thought for over a minute before folding.

Saout showed what appeared to be {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}, Ott mucked, and Saout collected the pot.

Pisane Gets The Clock Called, Then Four-Bets

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Randy Pisane opened the action with a raise to 380,000 from the cutoff. Next to act, Pedro Oliveira three-bet to 1,100,000. Action folded to Jake Bazeley, who tanked for a big from the big blind before he released his cards, and the action was back to Pisane. He thought for roughly two minutes before the clock was called on him.

As the table waited for a floor person to arrive, Pisane finally made a move, re-raising to 3,080,000. Oliveira quickly folded his cards.

A verbal spat then erupted between Pisane and some of the other members of the table, discussing whether or not calling the clock in this specific instance was warranted. Pisane didn't think it was fair that the clock was called on him after such a short amount of time.

"You made a raise to 1.1 million," he said after the hand. "I will take as long as I want. It's a big decision."

Either way, Pisane took in the pot and added to his stack.

Zu Zhou Eliminated in 37th Place ($176,399)

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante
Zu Zhou
Zu Zhou

The action was folded around to Florian Lohnert in the small blind, and he shoved all in for around 3,800,000. Zu Zhou was in the big blind and had just 1,700,000 remaining. He thought for a moment and then moved a stack of chips into the pot.

Zhou was ahead with {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, but Lohnert had two overcards with {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The board ran out {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, and Lohnert made two pair to eliminate Zhou.

There are just 36 players and four tables remaining with Level 30 nearing the end.

Marcel Luske opened from the cutoff, and he was called by Pedro Oliveira in the big blind.

The flop came down {3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}, and Oliveira took the lead, betting 475,000. Luske called. On the {10-Clubs} turn, Oliveira fired again, this time betting 875,000. Luske called once more. The river was the {K-Spades}, and Oliveira fired a third time, this time putting out a bet of 1,375,000. Luske quickly folded.

The French Connection

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Joshua Marvin and Benjamin Pollak arrived at Table 724 when their former table broke, and Pollak joined fellow Frenchmen Valentin Messina and Alexandre Reard. In fact, he sat down right next to Reard.

After that, the next few hands didn't provide much action. Messina claimed two hands post-flop, then Scott Stewart raised to 380,000 from the small blind. Reard called in the big blind, and the flop came {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Stewart continued for 330,000, and Reard called before doing so again for 675,000 on the {A-Spades} turn. The {10-Hearts} river was checked by both, and Stewart showed {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, Reard chopped it with {K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

The next hand, Stewart raised from the button, and Pollak defended the big blind. The Frenchman checked the {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop and called a bet of 280,000 from Stewart. Neither the {3-Hearts} turn nor the {K-Clubs} river provided any action, and Pollak's {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} won him the pot with a flopped flush.
